Fulham denied by last gasp goal

Leicester snatched a last minute equalizer and it was indeed with pretty much the last kick of the ball and this was the 2nd time Leicester had had to come from behind but they deserved a draw and they will look forward to the replay at Craven Cottage.

Leicester started brighter with Gareth Williams and Iain Hume both firing over but it wasn’t long before Fulham were starting to dominate the game with Heidar Helguson having his header tipped over the bar and then from the resulting corner he had to deny American Brian Mcbride with his header.

However Leicester came back into it and Stephen Hughes fired over from a corner and Matty Fryatt had his shot blocked but Fulham started to create chances again proably sensing the threat that Leicester had been applying and Moritz Voltz long range effort was held by the Leicester goalkeeper and Michael Brown fired wide and then the best chance fell to Wayne Routledge when he rounded the keeper but the angle was difficult and when he shot Leicester were back and they cleared.

Routledge tried to make up for his miss but his free kick went over the bar and both teams went into half time level which would proably suit the home side better after the break Tomasz Radzinski fired wide and Omozusi fired wide for Fulham as they looked to grab the opener.

Leicester though also wanted to give the 15,000 odd fans who had come for the game something to cheer about and Hughes’s downward header had to be pushed wide by the goalkeeper and Iain Hume should have put his effort in the back off the net but it ended up in the stands however they fell behind when Michael Brown’s through ball found Mcbride and the defence were nowhere to be seen as he fired past Henderson in the Leicester goal.

Fulham bought on Montella who has joined on loan till the end of the season but it was Leicester who drew level in the 79th minute when sub Danny Cadamarteri’s cross was headed home by former Hearts defender Patrick Kisnorbo but the lead only lasted for a few minutes when Moritz Voltz fired it in from outside the box and he could have made it 3-1 but he was denied by Henderson.

That save proved to be crucial as in the 92nd minute Sub Danny Cadamarteri who had set up the Kisnorbo goal was played the ball by Danny Porter and he fired home to the delight of the majority off people inside the Walkers Stadium.

  1. Fulham let Boa Morte go, which doesn’t say much for the club. Oh well, it’s not as if Coleman is going to win the Prem with 5 mil, let alone buy a star that can push them beyond mid-table obscurity.
