Frustrated With Lack of Opportunity, Man Utd Star Hints At Leaving OT

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has hinted for the first time that he may have to leave the club in order to get regular game time.

The 25-year-old has started just two games under David Moyes and is largely seen as an impact player. The Mexican forward insisted that he is happy at Old Trafford but hinted he may have to move to another club in order to get achieve his aim of starting games regularly.

Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney are the primary strikers at the club but under Moyes, Chicharito has dropped further down the pecking orders behind youngster Danny Welbeck as well. He has scored just once this season, against Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Capital One Cup, and admitted that lack of regular games is a concern for him at the moment.

He said in an interview with Mexican TV station Deportes Telemund at the quoted in The Mirror:

“I am working towards that – earning a spot as a starter. I know that my performance on the pitch will allow me to achieve that goal someday either here [in Manchester] or elsewhere for any other club.

“I am going on four years here [at Manchester United] and really, like I have always said, I am happy to be able to play for one of the best clubs in the world, doing my best every single day to earn more minutes on the pitch.

“I just need to be given more opportunities to showcase what I can do, because all of us want to be able to contribute our part so this team can win championships.”

The boy from Guadalajara scored 20 goals in his debut season for The Red Devils following a £6m move from Chivas in 2010. However, he admits that the competition in the squad is a healthy sign for the development of any young player but clearly his underneath frustrations are evident here.
