From Italy: Arsenal plot move to sign Brazilian winger

Arsenal have done few smart businesses this summer.

They have addressed the right back issue by signing Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle. They have added a world class player in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

Furthermore, the Gunners solved their goal keeping problems by adding World Cup hero David Ospina. And now are on the look out for one more top signing before the window shuts.

Bernard-Main

Rumours ran wild that Arsenal were keen to sign Chilean forward Edu Vargas. The Gunners were hoping to recreate the Sanchez-Vargas partnership that stole the show during the World Cup in Brazil.

However, latest report suggest that Vargas is off to London, but not to sign with the Gunners rather to join newly promoted club QPR.

Having missed out on the target (debatable, whether he was actually a target for the Gunners) the North Londoners have shifted their attention elsewhere.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal are plotting a move to sign the highly rated Brazilian winger Bernard, who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 21-year-old winger is a regular member of the Brazil national team and has played in the recently concluded World Cup as well.

He will represent a top signing no doubt, but one cannot help but think, is he the right type of player Arsenal need at the moment? The dosh could be used elsewhere.
