Written by Ahmed Bilal. Tagged: Blackburn Rovers - UEFA Cup

Eleven teams from across Europe have all earned a place in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup second qualifying round after winning through from the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

The UEFA Cup second qualifying round draw will be held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland this Friday after the conclusion of the first qualifying round on Thursday night. A total of 37 second-leg matches are being played this week and those winners will join a further 27 sides, including the Intertoto eleven, in the second qualifying round. The Intertoto team that gets the furthest in the UEFA Cup will be crowned winners of the competition. Newcastle United FC had this honour in 2006/07.

I’d say Atletico may get the farthest out of that list they have a strike force of Forlan and Aguero and now have Luis Garcia and possibly Simao. Still not good enough in CM to win the UEFA though which Bayern should win.

  2. So the team that goes farthest will have the best strikeforce? Try McCarthy, Roberts, Santa Cruz, Derbyshire & Rigters, backed up from midfield with Gamst, Bentley and the legend that is Tugay. Oh wait, that’s Blackburn Rovers, let’s just ignore them like the press do.

  3. HSV has some potential in their squad, one of the many teams i wish i could see play, but FSC only broadcasts EPL and Serie A :( .
I dare to say Blackburn Rovers will make it a few rounds. They have a strong team and if they hold on to McCarthy who knows what they can do. Derbyshire was phenominal last year and produced some real class for a kid his age.
Antgrad is so right, the press don’t care much at all for Blackburn and its a shame, they are a great squad to watch. Sparky has done a wonderful job turning them into a nice attacking that can put up a good fight for the top teams in England.

  4. rovers all the way av sin our strike that is a dream team any team in the uefa cup would want our team COME ON ROVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
