In my opinion, YES...:) His passes (which led to all the important goals) were instrumental in Spain winning the the Euro. Sometimes, we forget the ppl who supplied the passes which led to the goals being scored, but the passes themselves may be more important cos the midfielder typically has to do the hard work in creating chances/opportunities for the striker to score.

NO! Absolutely not
Yes.. he did have a great preformance in the final...but what about the semis and the quaters when he had a poor game over all and was substituted? He never really had an outstanding game...had reasonably good performance in the 1st two group matches and a great final..is that good enough for being named the MVP in a tournament as big as the Euros? I think more deserving candidates were Senna, Cassilas and Villa who were consistently outstanding throughout -

I do agree with you there fosterfirst...sneijder and arshavin would have been the obvious choices had their countries progressed...but no one has really staked his claim here
