If Wigan are daft enough to flog him, I would love to see Palacios in a United kit. Week in/week out he has been remarkably consistent. I'd put the lad up there on my quality list with Mascherano, Martinez, Muntari, Gattuso and Essien.

I was actually about to start a thread about this. By no means are Wigan going to flog him. They are asking for 14 times what they paid for him last year! I would love to see him too but what happen next season if Hargreaves can actually stay fit? Would also probably be the end of the road for Fletcher, unless they would rather get rid of Anderson. Scholes won't be playing much and it would basically stop Possebon(who I don't really rate anyway) and Gibson even getting a chance
When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. -

Tevez and Gibson are 2 different players in different positions.
one is a striker and the other a CM.
Tevez has a randsome on his price tag while Gibson is already with us and will not demand so high wages until he plays 80% of the club games.

Palacios is the post-to-post player United have needed since Keano quit the club. Hargreaves will never be able to fetch close to the kind of dosh United paid for him. He'll make a fine super-sub for United. A vastly superior alternative to Johnny O. Gibson will never be more than trade-bait and the jury is still out on Possebon. As Scholes gets older his horrendous timing as a tackler makes him more and more susceptible to yellow cards. You can never have too many good midfielders. Look at Inter! Consider how threadbare Chelsea look without Makelele and Essien. The question is whether the Gaffer can keep everybody fit and content.

Might just be Fergie giving a helping hand to Brucie so he can jack the price up. It always feels good to give that wanker Danny Levy some rough trade, doesn't it? There's still a need for an energetic, hard-tackling leader, though. I still like Javí Martínez over Witsel and Veloso, but maybe they'll go for an old pro like Van Bommel and platoon him with Hargo and Fletcher.

Palacios is not spectacular, but he gets the job done. Brave players who tackle well are noticeably absent from the P.L. Look at what City are prepared to pay for Scott Parker. He's just a complete poser who gets found out in big games. Veloso is being held on to like gold by Sporting Lisbon, who refuse to flog him for a knock down price. By comparison, Palacios is a bargain.
