I m new on this forum but i m a big fan of Manchester united. I m not as concerned for Rolando leaving for Real Madrid as I m concerned for Ryan Giggs. He is a legendary player served his whole carrier for united. No doubt he is a great play maker but now he is 36 and his carrier is at last stage. Then who will replace Ryan giggs? Is it Tosic? He is a young left footed player. but can he handle that pressure of English games? will he be fit for English atmosphere where people will be after his legs. I want to know what you people think about tosic as a giggs replacement?

Tosic has potential but a player like Giggs has no 'real' replacement.
The best you can hope for is the rise of Nani and Valencia on the wings. Giggs is a midfielder these days anyway.

Tosic has the potential, but right now his crossing is far too inconsistent, he can come up with the perfect ones and then has some real shockers

There is no such thing as a like for like replacement. This is why calling players "the new" anything is laying an unnecessary burden on them. There can never be a new Roy Keane, the next Zizou, another Ronaldinho, etc. In the 50s and 60s England had easily the best goalkeepers in the world, now we think Calamity James is the most reliable. United eventually come up with Duncan Edwards, Bobby Charlton, Georgie Best, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes: Not a one of them was ever replaced.

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

thinking of a replacement for giggs is just silly... Nani and Valencia both can prove their worth this season & also Obertan is yet to appear... as for Tosic its still too early to judge

Nobody is as skillful with the left foot as Giggs; that will be sorely missed.

I also agree that no one can replace Ryan giggs. But some body has to play on for giggs so why its not tosic. This left footy winger who is still inconsistent due to inexperience but if fergie polish him well he will support united from the left.

Messi obviously could replace giggs! David Silva aswell i think Tosic & Nani are the options we have at this moment in time. Valencia is truelly terrible he needs to be dropped Oberton is soon to be fit an he has blistering pace surely the right wing is his...although he can play on both wings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSLIGo_7xGc

I don't think anyone can truely fill Giggsy's boots... All the Reds can do is try to keep bringing on new talent into the side and look for good solid players. Giggs is a legend and I think that we (Man Utd) have benefitted greatly fromt he fact that he didn't opt to play for England at senior level... He's always well rested in pre-season:)

Valencia is a fine footballer, but we don't have a free-scoring striker. Kün Aguéro looked like he was auditioning against Chelsea, and, unfortunately, David Villa doesn't seem to want to come to England. Both are ridiculously expensive!

Inzaghi would've been a good choice, but he's far, far too old. And how can you get the best striker in the world without paying loads? You should risk it, and if you go into bankruptcy it'll be all the better.

I dont think its a left winger that Man Utd need to replace Giggs becuase he hasn't been a proper left winger for a while now. Man Utd will defenantly need a creative player to replace him. Frank Ribery maybe....

Ribery and Silva are both good ideas. Expensive, but Man Utd should have some money lying around from Ronaldo. It depends what formation Sir Alex wants to play - Ribery would provide more width, whereas Silva, I think, is more of a ball carrying, playmaker.

For the time-being, Obertan has looked good in his appearances so far.
