I say Nani and Evra and put Ronney at Attacking mid with Rooney and Tevez up top. I think doing this will shut down Messi, as well as Henry and overall Barcelona whole.

    Is Man Utd!

You are joking right?! I like Nani but he is not that type of player! We will play 3 in midfield & i think it will be Ando who helps Evra out. Henry is a big concern i don't see how we can cope with him the Idea of him vs O'Shea is scary!

Nani!? are you on pot!? it will be nuttmegg heaven for Henry vs Oshea, Evra can cope with mesii I think Rooney on the Left, Park on the Right, three man midfield of Ando, Carrick and either Scholey or Giggsey, Ronaldo up top - easy peasy. What do you guys make of Piques comments?(http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11945_5344808,00.html) I think its just a ploy to get Barca fans believing, right now their fans think they've got no chance. Plus I think not having Henry is a double whammey, as it will be Iniesta (if he's fit) who will play in his position and he is nowhere near as effective there as he is in the centre of midfield with Xavi

Dude, lol you got to be nuts to even suggest nani to cover messi.
Ahmed shah thats to defensive for me.I want to see Man U take the game to them.Heres what i suggest
    VDS
    O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
    Anderson Carrick
    Tevez
    Ronaldo Berbatov Rooney

Anderson to play like Yaha,Carrick to be a slightly more defensive version of Xavi while Tevez to play like iniesta with double the work rate and rooney to be helping down the flank as often as he can

fatehsmann, that team is almost as crazy as saying Nani is gonna start... no way will we try to out Barca, Barca we will play a similar team like we did against Arsenal, 4-3-3 when we've got the ball 4-5-1 when we don't and Neither Tevez or Berba will start

fathsmann, my team is not defensive. Anderson wont let Xavi and Iniesta keep the ball for more then 3secs, Scholesy will be the playmaker and Carrick will be making the late runs from midfield. Park and Rooney are THE best at tracking back. This is almost the same team that destroyed Arsenal at the Emirates (Scholesy didnt play, Fletch did). Ronaldo upfront is deadly. Just hope Rio makes it although I think it will only have a minor effect as Evans is just as capable (ok maybe a tiny bit less).

Statistically we are way better defensively without Rio than with him, but I just think that Vidic ups his game when playing with young Evans and gets a bit laid back when playing with Ferdinand, Still think Rio will make it.

Nani can't find his weasel inside his tighty-whities, okay? Cover Messi? Are you crazy? Bottom line is kind of clear. Henry's back will not carry him for 90 minutes. O'Shea will simply try to lean in on him and force him nside where Rio rules. Henry has always tortured us. So, if he's really on, he'll score. I'm more worried about Bojan putting a dagger in our heart late in the game. Henry needs to be marked zonally and, if Vidic shuts down Et'o'o, I fancy our chances.

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

Nah man Nani isn't a man of form latelyand Im not being sentimental about this choice, but I think Park really does deserve his place in the final. He did a good enough job gainst him last year in the semi's and he rarely has an awful game. Plus him and Evra are best of buddeis apparently, and that'll help team morale

no way man..nani doesnt know wat de word defend means..he is the last player to cover messi..i say put rooney back on the left and let him and evra do it..put tevez and ronaldo up front or mayb berba and tevez..

    -----------Van Der Sar----------
    O'Shea----Vidic----Evans----Evra
    ------------Carrick-------------
    Rooney---Anderson---Giggs---Park
    ------------Ronaldo-------------
This btw is the team I think he will play not the team I want him to play.
    Subs:Kuzkjak, Rio, Scholes, Tevez, Berbatov.
Rooney to help out with Henry as he is far too Fast for O'Shea.
Anderson & Park to help out with Messi, Park helping out will also free up Anderson to pick out passes & get the ball to Rooney & Ronaldo. Giggs hopefully has a good day & picks out passes freely. I'd have gone with Scholes but this season he has been far to inconsistant!

i read a blog by tim vickery on the bbc website yesterday about anderson and it mentioned about anderson covering the area that messi will drift into.it reminded me of the game at the olympics between brazil and argentina and anderson was very impressive against messi in that game, even though it wasnt his primary task to mark him.if he plays like he did that day then it will give us a far better chance

The biggest worry is where Messi receives the ball. Anderson's muscle and balance should frustrate Messi. Chelsea strangled them up front, but that left Iniesta free and the lad worked his arse off and we all know what happened. Because Carrick needs to be free, I think Parky will have his hands full.

not just Iniesta, others like Eto'o, Xavi can be let off if United concentrate too much on Messi.

Fletcher would have been perfect to hassle the Barca midfield along side Adno, shame he's not playing, I think though that Giggs or Scholes will start and one will come on for the other to freshen them up..
