As a hardened Villan, I think that there are plenty of Villa players deserved of being in the England squad, if not team. I'm interested to hear what non-Villa fans think (ie the unbiased).

    - Gareth Barry seems to be taken as read, so we'll ignore him.
    - I'd say that Ashley Young is a definite.
    - Followed closely by Agbon, who deserves to be in the squad purely for his super-sub fear factor.
    - Then you also have Nigel Reo-Coker, who has plenty of doubters, but few Villa fans are in that group. He's played excellently for us for a while and has also showed great diversity recently when he magically transformed into a winger when asked to.
    - New signing James Milner was knocking on the door at the end of his Newcastle career too.
    - Luke Young has represented his country at full-back before...
    - so has Nicky Shorey, but so far they aren't really pushing too much for a re-arrival.
    - Curtis Davies was selected in Capello's first squad and had a great season with us last year on loan. This year he has been good too but both Villa and England have plenty of talented centre-backs.

Myself I'd probly select Barry, Young and maybe Agbon. What about the non-Villans out there tho?

Young should be first team for England. And the best for Villa and England (If Capello starts calling him) is that he is so good, yet so young. Just imagine if he keeps getting better how good he will be in 4 or 5 years!

Barry is a waterboy, but, despite the doubters, Nigel Reo-Coker will be the dogs bollocks running interference for Stevie G Scouse and Carrick. Agbonlahor and Young are very close.

Barry in the squad but as a backup.
Young in place of Cole, give the kid a run out in the friendlies. Cole is best used as an impact player coming off the bench.
Agbon - no harm trying him alongside / in place of Rooney, but the kid has some time to go before he's good enough.
Reo-Coker - replacement for Hargreaves, alongside Lampard if you want a more 'attacking' team going 4-4-2 or alongside Gerrard and Barry if you want to shore up the midfield.

    Young is the best bet

    Reo-Coker isn't experienced enough.

Agbonlahor could, is at the calibre of other strikers

Gareth Barry should start! Anywhere in midfield should be fine for him, I think!

Rory Delap: Are you crazy? If Hargreaves goes under the knife, surely NRC will get his shot.

Delap's throw is ghey, his throws are better than a corner, i swear! both right and left side throws is also his. and fuok, he could be standing somewhere ahead of the half way line and the whole bunch of players are crowding the penalty area.

Yeah, but what ELSE does Delap do? What is 'ghey'? You mean 'ghey' like Sol Campbell? Or, like, something down on the farm?

I don't think any particular word would get you on anybody's Z list, Hamburg. It's more about getting rid of mean-spiritidness!

What bobo said. We're open as long as you're well-intentioned. Of course, if you're gay enough to take offense at being called gay then it's probably a good idea not to call anyone else gay. are you?

I only have seen Milner at Leeds and Newcastle, that is very long ago. He is quick wide player, and likes getting past players. but dont think he is ready yet.
