Given and Richards I missed out, but another problem with Richards and Kompany is their raw potential and haven't become great defenders yet. They wouldn't walk into the teams either; it's debatable about the Arsenal and Chelsea defences considering their reshuffles, but only on the bench at most United and Pool. Their not better than Skrtel Carra Vida n Rio at the minute.

Kompany & Richards can both play right back & i would say are more reliable than Rafael also Kompany is a great defensive mid something we need alot!

He's good without doubt, but not yet one of the greats. Considering Fletcher's significance to the team during last season, he'd provide him good competition but I don't think Fergie would happily replace Fletch, Anderson or Carrick with Kompany. The right back slot is the only spot you would give straight to City out of the first 11. Other positions are debatable.

Considering who we buy and our formation, we can have Giggs, Valencia, Rooney among others in either of those positions. I'd concede Robinho on the left though if we do what we should and push Rooney into the middle

Ferguson would love to sign Ireland if he could as he can drive from centre midfield which no Utd player can or has the legs to do anymore.

Anderson's pretty quick and he's not really had a consistent run attacking through the middle always having to drop back and help out. We haven't seen the true potential of him yet, his attacking instincts have been largely stifled so far.

I think Man City seem to be in need for Terry...

Ferguson ruined Anderson, he was one of the most attacking, exciting young players in Europe before he joined Utd, now all his is a shield for the defence and was really shown up in the Champions league final

That's because we didn't have a shield for the defence. No Fletcher, no shield. We could put Carrick there but he doesn't have the pace and aggression to hunt after players, we needed Carrick to be passed to and create the link up play. Anderson showed plenty of fight against Gerrard and Fabregas but in a role further up the field, Fergie thought that for that game he could provide it a bit further back but it unfortunately failed.

Buy Yaya (or a player similar to that) and we can let Anderson perform like he did against Blackburn and other opponents in his first season when he was left to run things in the 3rd quarter of the pitch. Fergie is not stupid, he knows where his natural position is he just tested his diversity at the wrong time.

I think City could strenghen in two key areas - their manager (not sure Hughes is up to the job) and clearly at the back - they need to be more assure in defence and a little more dynamic up front if they are to challenge this season IMO
