Wow what an exciting quarterfinal that was!...the semis are shaping up to be a very entertaining affair

Who are ur picks to go to the final? I think Utd's just too much for Arsenal...I for one would love to see Arsenal progress...wonder if the fact that the 2nd leg is at the Emirates would be crucial? I'd love to see Arsenal in the final cos I don't want Fabregas feel he's wasting his talents @ Arsenal...they haven't won silverware for 5 years

MY Barca vs. Chelsea...I'll never rule Chelsea out...not with Lucky Guus Hiddink @ the helm...the guy's amazing...if Roman knows what's good for him he'll fork over some cash to keep him...I just think that my Barca's too much for Chelsea in terms of firepower...sure you can go toe to toe with them, but you can never outscore this incarnation of Barcelona...Barca in the final...one caveat though...Hiddink won the European Cup with PSV so he has more managerial experience than Guardiola...should be interesting...wonder if the fact that the 2nd leg is @ Stamford bridge would be a deciding factor

Utd vs. Barca in the Rome final...what a dream matchup!! I think Fergie and co will have experience on their side and prevail to become the first squad in the Champions League era to retain their crown. Surely then (and only then) would they be considered one of the greatest teams of all time

Ibra's Abracadabra will help Barca win their second Treble, and Eto'o will revitalize Inter Milan!!

well i can see barca beating chelsea anyway, they should be able to knock a few past them in the first leg at least, messi having a free run at goal will help them no end.the only player i can see being thrown at left back in that game is essien, which will give barcas midfield the freedom of catalunya to rip chelsea to shreds.its a win-win situation for them.the other tie will be much closer i think, but im backing us to go through....obviously.5-4 in the final too!tevez hattrick, followed by 2 scorchers from ando

What's the reason Hiddink's not staying? He's good for Chelsea...if Roman has any football smarts he'll keep Lucky Guus

If he does go, who's gonna replace him? Frank Rijkaard? He was underrated as a manager. Roberto Mancini? Ancellotti?

he wont be defintely available til november should russia fail to qualify for SA.the search is supposedly on for the new manager, but its all speculation at the moment as to who is the newbie.could be ancelotti, but perez is courting him too.and if he leaves, rijkaard will be a big candidate for the san siro seat

LOL...could the prodigal son Mourinho come back after failing to win the Champions League with Inter? or is he biding his time and waiting for the Utd job?

Hmmm... I have a feeling Chelsea might have a surprise in store for us in the semis...I DID NOT expect Liverpool to go out so early...was very impressed by The Blues...remember Barca doesn't have an in-form Ronaldinho of seasons past :)

Does anyone know what their head to head is? Chelsea-Barcelona? haven't they played each other a few times over the past few seasons?

Liverpool missed Gerrard's services in the 2nd leg...maybe Gerrard should be considered for the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year too...he sure has Zidane's vote

What the hell you on about, Steve G is the heart and soul of Liverpool, if they had him that night i recon they would have gone through. He's a great player and an inspirational captain.

vian_siu now you're just being ignorant. Just because a player has one bad game it doesn't make him a shit player.

Look at what he's done for Liverpool over the past 3-4 years. If he was in the squad he would have galvanized them to go for the 5th. That's the type of captain he is

do i care what this diver done in the last few year? its all about performance on the day, and pool did nothing against chelski to suggest they missed him. didnt they have a shot clear off the line when it was 4-4?

anyway i can see a utd v chelski rematch. i think we got a 50-50 chance of beating arse and i think chelski can do what we did last year to shut out barca, because chelski is the more versatile team and they are physicial, whereas barca is one-dimentional and soft. although they are the best one-dimentional team in the world

chelsea are not so good in the opening minutes, while barca are fantastic in the first 45 minutes. i see all the goals in the first half of the first leg. in the 2nd leg, well, chelsea will concede, but they will never let u go away with a clean sheet. A high score draw would be the result. may be 3-1 in the 1st leg, 3-3 in the 2nd.

It's going to be a glorious final, regardless of whoever makes it...it WOULD be hard to top the drama and emotion of last season's final though...what are some SCENARIOS that WOULD make this year's final even more entertaining and fun to watch?

The only scenario I can think of is if both sides feature beautiful attacking football, the Brazilian way, with goals aplenty. That hasn't happened in quite a while. I'd love to see the re-emergence of the high-scoring final this year!

I'd like to get more opinions as to which upset would be more bigger: Arsenal vs Utd, or Chelsea vs. my Barcelona. Duff and Andrei haven't heard from you yet :)

Rank these in order of most dramatic and unbelievable, such that you go "Now THAT's football, in all its unpredictability and beauty"

The 1999 Utd win vs Munich, Liverpool's 2005 triumph over Milan, or Utd's miraculous penalty shootout win of 2008 (feel free to throw other classic European Cup/Champions League finals in the mix)? I'm sure that many of you would say Utd, seeing as a great many of you are Utd fans :)

Objectively speaking though, it'd have to be 'Pool's win against Milan in 2005. They were utterly dominated by Milan, yet managed to come back from 3 goals down AND win the lottery of the penalty shootout. Unbelievable stuff

In terms of sheer class and beauty of the game, the nod would have to go to the 1960 final between Real and Frankfurt. I watched the entire match in archived video a while back and was astounded by the sheer beauty and CLASS of the quality of football produced by both sides. This year's final NEEDS that sort of class and beauty to come back!

Incidentally, for those of you that argue that money is the only reason why the Premier League is dominating Europe with the Big Four, I've got two words for you: Real Madrid

Why does saying that the Premier League IS the greatest league in the world seem like a taboo or wrong thing to say?

real have had to take out a loan to finance the potential ronaldo/kaka move,so they arent as rich as people think.

as for the final, obviously i hope united are in it,and for the sake of amazing goalmouth entertainment, barca better make it too.i want goals!

ivanovic will habe to take the left then, bosingwa on the right of course, they should play Deco, as Ballack can't keep up with the likes of Dani Alves, Iniesta or even seydou keita, plus, deco knows alot of this team already

he might know them, but when you're as creative as alves, messi, iniesta and xavi are,you could be their twin brother but you wont have a clue what they will do next
