Just like the global credit crunch, the world's football giants are falling once and for all. Udinese are at the top in Italy. Groningen are astonishing the big teams in the Netherlands. Hoffenheim are famously topping the Bundesliga standings, and the team from up north are 3rd in the Prem. Valencia have risen from the dead and, along with their grim reaper David Villa, are conquering the conquistadores in Spain. Le Mans, despite selling star striker Tulio De Melo in the summer, are third in the Ligue 1 ahead of Bordeaux, Toulouse, and Makelele-inspired PSG.
Just imagine a Champions league group stage match next year: Hull City vs. Hoffenheim. How strange, but, in an inexplicable way, exciting. To see two newly promoted sides in the Champions League would be a breath of fresh air and would be a lesson to teams like Tottenham and Dortmund that you can't buy success. Just for an odd bit of fun, I thought I would post the most used line-up of the two teams. Post your predictions below.
