If you had to name your top 5 players aged under 20 who are likely to become 'world class', who would they be?

    1. Keirrison (Palmeiras) - Superb 20 yr old striker with an impressive goal scoring record. At Cortiba he played 122 games and scored 60 goals and so far at Palmeiras he has played 21 games scoring 19 goals. I think in 2 or 3 years he could be considered one of the best strikers in world football.

    2. Dentinho aka Bruno Bonfim (Corinthians) - Another fantastic 20 yr old brazilian striker who has an impressive goal scoring record. At Corinthians he has so far played 96 games and scored 30 goals. He is quick, strong, skillfull and obviously has an eye for goal.

    3. Douglas Costa (Gremio) - Another brazilian, this time a skillfull midfielder with a great free kick. Douglas is a top prospect who has already been dubbed "the new Ronaldinho". He has great vision, passing range, pace and the ability to drift past opponents at will. Aged 18.

    4. Bojan Krkic (FC Barcelona) - 18 year old Spanish striker with an impressive goal scoring record, especially at youth level. Technically superb but we are yet to see the best of him in a Barca shirt, though when he matures and develops we are likely to see a natural footballer that thrives on goals.

    5. Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid) - Incredible to think that Aguero is still only 20 as he seems to have been around for ages having made his debut for Independiente at just 15. Quick, strong for a little man, great movement and scores goals. Has a great future ahead of him.

Obviously i am a fan of South American Football, but don't let that fool you into thinking that was a biased choice. I truely believe these are some of the best prospects in world Football.

1)Balotelli - technical ability that is unbelievable for a 18yo?

2)Collison - packs a punch and has great pace, he will be a Welsh captain like what Giggs used to be.

3)Lewandowski - scores on his many debuts, quite good in set pieces too.

4)Ozil - argh, i found this guy playing for Werder and i envy them, he is a great AM, his movement is good, vision not too bad. anyone saw him in the UEFA Cup final in place of Diego?

5)Lee Chung-yong - well i doubt he will be world player, but he will be an Asian moving over to Europe soon. he comapred to Hleb for his dribbling and his passing is remarkable.

yes and that exactly why Bremen lost. He doesnt even come close to Diego, but he has the potential.

1)Theo Walcott-Shame on you guys for missing him.For me,he might just go on to be one of the all-time greats and he definitely has the potential (Being under the stewardship of one arsene wenger might just help)
    2)Sergio Aguero-A brilliant striker...without a doubt a future star.
3)Karim Benzema-Again i can't figure out how you could ignore him.He is big,he is strong,he is fast,he can play on the wing, play as a winger, and can score goals out of all positions. Another star in the making.
4)Kerrison-I have seen Kerrison in action and i agree with Gasheadwes
5)Anderson-I think he will turn out into one of the best midfielders of his time.Made the transition from attacking to central mid remarkebly

    add this 3:

1)Daniel Opare - Ghanian RB plying hie trade in Real Madrid. he was one of the best players in one of the Under-something WC.

2)Victor Moses - still raw, but this Nigerian-born is playing for England U-19 and he plays on the left of midfield.

3)Rabiu Ibrahim - the next Jay-Jay Okocha. and he is in Sporting Lisbon.

I quite like Diego Buonanotte. I think he has potential but his size might just hold him back. He's much smaller than Messi at about 5ft2in (?) but has similar skills. I can't help thinking at 5ft2in you are going to have to be one hell of a player, better than Messi, if you are going to get the recognition you deserve. I don't think he will go on to be world class but he will have a decent career i'm sure.

Lucky Spurs......not sure who you mean at Sao Paulo tbh. Could possibly be Wellington?

I like other suggestions (but purposely left them out) like Walcott, Benzema, Anderson, Lewandowski etc

I would also say that Sotiris Ninis, Javi Martinez, Coutinho, Jack Wilshere and Guilherme (formerly Cruzeiro) can all become big stars in the future. On Guilherme's first start for Dynamo Kiev he scored a hattrick and got an assist. Say's it all about his potential.

There is also a 17 yr old at Santos called Neymar. He has already been signed up by Nike and is promoting a football campaign for them in Brazil with Keirrison another signed up. This kid is also something special and i only just ommitted him from my list. Great potential. He scores goals, dribbles, creates and has decent pace. He has been dubbed "the new Robinho" and IMHO it is a fair comparison because they have similar technique and look about the same height/weight.

Ahmad Khalil, Best Asian Young Footballer of the Year 2008, heard Chelsea might be giving him a try out this summer. Best Player and Top Scorer in Asian Youth Championship. and only 18 this coming June!!!

John Fleck, youngest player in a Scottish Cup final last year playing for Rangers. he is also 18 this year.

Jozy Altidore, he is currently play for a Spainish 2nd Div club, but i hope he getting used to the European style soon and be a great player like McBride.

im going to skip out on walcott, aguero, anderson, etc. since theyve already proven themselves.

    1. Keirrison
    2. Fredrico Macheda
    3. Bojan Krkic, only if he gets loaned out. not ebough minutes for him at Barca rite now
    4. Mario Balotelli
    5. Sergi Busquets, only 20 and went from being B team last year to first team regular and even made Spanish debut. good size, decent vision, good in air.
