lucio has had a big drop off in form this season and last season too.not the player he was.i do realise nesta hasnt played this season,but he was very good when he was fit the last time he played.cant be bad if your injured now can ya?

Yes, because both Puyol and Terry are past it. Martin DeCaceres is another one who's massively improved, too.

caceres would want to show it fairly lively.hasnt been anywhere near as good as he can be in the past few games for barca.i saw him against atletico in the copa del rey a few weeks ago,and it was just mistake after mistake.i know he is a good player,barca didnt spend so much on him for nothing,but he isnt performing very well

Reminds me of Rio. When he was good... I think, like Martín Demichelis backing up Lucio or Van Buyten at Bayern, that Caceres doesn't get too much help from a very much slowed down Carlos Puyol or Rafa Marquez.

caceres is actually very quick.maybe he isnt very confident at the moment with his lack of chances,but if he applies himself he can be one of the top CBs in spain

What? You're saying Nesta's past it, but Lucio's still got it? This season we've seen Lucio, Terry, Puyol and even Rio Ferdinand all depreciate. The thing about both Nesta and Cannavaro is that, even though the clock is ticking out loud, they're far more intelligent than your average centre back and their sense of positioning makes up for a LOT!

Nesta got the best of Ronaldo at the age of 30. I'm not saying he can still do that, but he is very fast for a CB.
