I think a big name is the least of our problems; we need a young, promising player. Preferably in the striker's position or in defence.

Pompey will be relieved to see that the offer for Distin has been rejected. Pity to see Sean Davis leave them too.

When I hear the name Nugent, I think of Ted Nugent and "Cat Scratch Fever." If Dave Nugent could play football like Ted plays guitar, he'd be okay. As Pompey are about to get an Arab sugar daddy and Armando Diego Maradona as General Manager, I think Nugent and company will be otherwise engaged by at least January.
Blackburn need a pair of strikers and a bigger squad.
Bolton need squaddies
Sunderland need a hard man for the midfielder and a striker
Everton need someone in midfield with a bit more aggression than Phil Neville.
Spurs need everything but full backs.
Stoke City need more finesse squaddies
Birmingham City need our prayers.
Wolves need squaddies
Hull need a couple of strikers and a lot of squaddies
Aston Villa need squaddies, a centre back, a central midfield hard man and a couple of flair players. Fulham need squaddies
Chelsea need to clear out Ballack, Deco and Kalou and bring in at least three quality alternatives
Portsmouth will soon have a decent team
Manchester City need more quality defenders
Manchester United can not count on the return of Owen Hargreaves, A warrior beside Carriuck and Anderson is a necessity
Arsenal need guts
Burnley need squaddies
Liverpool need squaddies

man city definitely nid to offload some of their strikers! benjani,bellamy,tevez,santa cruz,adebayor,evans,bojinov...datz 7 strikers! and they have too many center defenders too? kompany,richards,dunne,ben haim,onuoha can play at da center too...so why sign terry?
everton need their strikers to stay fit!
aston villa need to sell off ahsley young, i can't c how agbonlahor,young and downing can start at the same time...
arsenal needs huntelaar
sunderland needs a proven striker that can score 10+ goals in a season, and an experience centerback to bring consistency.

For me, Fletcher, Brown and O'Shea are the ultimate squaddies or water carriers.You can't win over a long season without them. Villa and Everton won't improve unless they get more of them.
