Imagining we had all first team players currently fit and in form, I can't help but imagine what a super team we would really have. I was talking about it with a mate the other day and boy, it's no wonder Arsene doesn't want to sign to many extra players. Imagine these possible suqads (baring in mind Toure and Gallas are could play together, if not sqap Djourou with one or the other):

    ----------------Almunia-----------------

    ---Sagna----Gallas----Toure----Clichy---

    ---Walcott--Fabregas--Nasri---Rosicky---

    ------------------Van Persie------------
    ------------Adebayor--------------------

    Subs:
    Djourou
    Silvestre
    Ramsey
    Denilson
    Song
    Vela
    Eduardo

    /or/

    ----------------Almunia-----------------

    ---Sagna----Gallas----Toure----Clichy---

    ----Walcott-----Fabregas------Nasri-----

    ---------------Van Persie---------------

    ---------Eduardo------Adebayor----------

    Subs:
    Djourou
    Silvestre
    Ramsey
    Denilson
    Song
    Vela
    Rosicky

    /or/

    ----------------Almunia-----------------

    ----Clichy-------Gallas-------Sagna-----

    ---Walcott--Fabregas--Nasri---Rosicky---

    --------------Van Persie----------------

    ---------Eduardo------Adebayor----------

    Subs:
    Djourou
    Toure
    Silvestre
    Ramsey
    Denilson
    Song
    Vela

Those are just some squads I thought would be good with the players we have, and in my opinion they look pretty decent. Only place we're lacking is defence but I belive Gallas, Toure and even Djourou in coming seasons, are good defenders.

Plus you have the likes of Bendtner, Eboue, Wilshere, J.Simpson and A.Traore not even getting a mention!! It's certaintly up for debate.

Yeah he is really making an impact of late, Jay Simpson is only on loan till end of the current season I believe.

Well i dont think Denilson will be easy to displace when all the injuries, cuase if you notice he is more of a defensive midfielder and hence allow Fabregas to roam more

    Almunia

    Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy

    Walcott Fabregas Denilson Nasri

    Adebayor Van Persie

Subs(in order of merit): Rosicky, Eboue, Song Billong, Silvestre, Eduardo, Diaby, Bendtner, Djourou, Vela, Ramsey, Wilshere, Randall

Well Denilson is a toughy. He can play really good some parts of games and really bad in others. If you look at the Hull match I think he was more effective even when he went towards the left flank.

At the moment with Cesc's injury I think Nasri is a lot better controlling the flow from the middle.

I think Eboue is steadily improving, whilst Diaby, well I guess he hasn't really changed.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if Bendtner keeps scoring, because it's obvious Arsene wants to let the Ade/RvP partnership grow. Plus then when Eduardo hopefully comes back, I think competition will be fierce for those positions.

    Walcott, Fabregas, Arshavin???, Nasri

    -------------Van Persie--------------

True, but he hasn't been getting enough opportunities as yet. Don't know whether Arsene wants to steadily bring him up or what, but yeah do think he needs more game time.

He certainly impressed in the CC, emaculate finisher. About whether he is better than Theo, think they are two different players altogether. Theo is more of a winger with pace and of late an eye for goal, whilst I think Vela is an out and out striker who is just being deployed recently on the wing.

    Both are good players though.

    Hmm, toughy.

I don't think that loan move out to Charlton a couple of seasons ago did him any bad, he got some valuable game time and improved his game. Of late he seems to have lost some will I think. I think he has a good stature about him, his passing game is usualy decent and can also play in defence which is helpful.

However, I do think he is a bit slow in getting to the ball. Do believe he needs a bit more hunger and determination. But he is young and I do see a future for him at the Emirates. Possibly, possibly, another loan out so he can pick up that determination factor, or all he may need is for the coaching staff to continue to work on him.

IF Rosicky were to come back and lets say he comes back where he left off, then Nasri will be pushed to the centre or Rosicky will have to play as a sub in the centre and hence, Song Billong and Diaby will have to buck up alot.

imagine the speed of Walcott, the passing range of Fabregas, the skills of Mozart Rosicky, the vision of Nasri midifeld. i will shiver dude ... all Bendtner have to do is stand in the pen box and wait for the pass and NOT block the pass.

    Hamburg:
Yes, you can only imagine, hence why I started this thread in the first place. I think with Rosicky, Fab and Theo being out at the moment, it is the time for the likes of Song and Diaby to prove themselves. They have had since the Villa game up till around March to show why they should be apart of this Arsenal team, and I guess if they do not prove themselves before Fab and the like return, perhaps they only deserve a spot on the bench.
(ps. Come on, your being a bit harsh of the Bendtner of late. He has got two from two, and arguably could easily have had four from two. He is starting to show that perseverance and determination that we've been lacking all season).

    Nick:
Ahhh, the Arshavin debate. I personally wouldn't mind to see him at the Emirates, but he wouldn't have been my first choice. We have the back hand of this situation. He's Zenit's player and they want the money. Look at the way Arshavin is acting also, not turning up to training, arguing about paying out his contract and etc. Imagine if he falls out with Arsene Wenger or one of the Arsenal players? Is he going to spit the dummy and what to transfer to some other club?

I would much rather Mr.Wenger make a solid and tempting bid to Everton for Mikel Arteta. Rather than have the lower position, Arsene could have thrown Everton an offer for their midfield maestro that may have been simply to good to resist or at least consider by Moyes and co. He has proven himself time and time again in the Premierleague whilst Arshavin has arguably not shone outside his native country.

Plus Arteta is a more than handy set piece taker. Imagine Van Persie and Arteta standing over an Arenal free kick. Hate to be that keeper.

seriously duffman 10,in this current climate when ur talking 17 for bellamy,15 for bent,15 for kenwyne jones and the ridiculous amount liverpool paid for keane.17 would be a bargain if we get the same arshavin we seen at the euros.

arshavin isnt very consistent.i agree with you about the inflated prices part,i see what you're getting at,but arshavin plays well 1 game in 3

agreed on the part that arshavin's king @ throwing tantrums...

but i guess he's going to mature with arsenal 11 ...

as far as price is concerned , i guess its a fair deal since showlights are on
    100m deal!

Personally, would have preffered to see either Mikel Arteta or Niko Krancjar before Arshavin.

Plus we would have arguably got one of those two for less. But Arsene liked his performances at Euro, and both Arteta and Krancjar have snubbed interest linking them with the Gunners.

    deal isn't final yet....

so lets hope for the best...
plus i don't think arsenal 'really' needs any player in this window

little cuts here and there and the gud ol 03-04 days will be back...

Yeah, I'd have to agree there. I think the players are starting to find that will to win again after the Hull game, where they could have just gone on to play out a draw, but they impressively rallied and scored twice to kill of the game, something which hasn't really been done all season.

Arteta would be a whole lot more expensive specially mid-season, I would of liked to see a holding midfielder like de Rossi or Yaya come in. When we get back our full strength squad we will win the champions league
