Ok, as the blog entry says to, i'm taking this with a hefty dose of salt at the moment - i seem to remember very similar articles about Torres last season.

However, if this is true i'd be freaking delighted. After the disappointment of last summer, tevez would make this summer perfect. Replacements for Giggs and Scholes, a tough DM who can pass ( ;-) ) and a cracking forward, happy days!

A front 4 of, potentially, Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo and Nani/Giggs/Anderson would be a joy to see at OT, such much pace and movement.

Would also be great from the point of view that Liverpool have a couple of hours to gloat over Torres, then we trump them! Always nice to get one over on the scousers!

I wouldn't sayu that is really confirmation - they are only reporting their own 5Live story, which, as far as i know, is reporting what the papers have been saying, so there is still not enough official noises for me to really believe. yet.

I really hope this is rumours at this stage because as a west ham fan id be really shattered to see him leave the club cos he formed a special bond with the fans.
Plus man utd have already bought enough quality players already dont ya think???
But in saying that id rather see him playing there then anywhere else cos atleast they play attractive football lol...stay away from chelsea hahaha
Well good luck to Carlos wherever he ends up.

Carlos Tevez has played down reports suggesting he is close to joining Manchester United.

The West Ham forward, who is currently in Venezuela with Argentina for the Copa America campaign, has been linked to several clubs in England and abroad but is keen to remain in the Premier League.

"As far as I am aware, I have not received any official offers," Tevez told Argentina national newspaper Clarin.

"Once an offer arrives then we will see. But the fact that Real Madrid, Internazionale and Manchester United are interested in me makes me proud."

Tevez was instrumental in keeping the Hammers in the Premier League last season and admits he would not be disappointed if he was to remain at Upton Park for a second straight campaign.

"If I have to stay at West Ham, it would be fine," he said. "I am happy there and people love me very much."

The 23-year-old admits he is no hurry to make a decision and his main aim right now is to help Argentina go for glory at the Copa America.

"Right now my focus is here (with national team)," said Tevez. "I think it's the best thing for my team. Once this is over, we shall see."

Cmon, is Man Utd gonna splash money again? The squad is already good enough and I'm afraid having a great squad will backfire, just like England.

dont be stupid sephunr! what about chelsea then? did them having a great squad backfire? no it never! the only reason england cant play is we have no flair, (only rooney), we have too many players that are excellent passers and that all they want to do!

I would be very happy to see this move happen. I read a comment earlier today on some other site saying he could play on the flank opposite Ronaldo, feeding Rooney, does anyone know if this is possible?

Whatever it turns out to be, Tevez or not, please SAF do not play Rooney alone up front, the cautious midfield never works.

Well Man U fans be happy Tevez has spoken on the deal and i quote
"For me, Manchester United will be a sensational destination and to be a member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad will be absolutely spectacular," Tevez is quoted in the Daily Mail.

"My dream is to be an idol in English football and I can achieve this now.

"I am a player who thrives on challenges. I went to England to triumph in the Premiership and with West Ham I have achieved that first stage.

"Now I'm ready to move on to the next stage."

The report also states that Tevez has welcomed the news that he is set to sign for United.

It is widely expected that Tevez will be seen in a red shirt after the Copa America

i see it too on manchester uniteds official website. lets just hope this is true otherwise it will be the biggest kick in the teeth that manchester united have ever given me. i know if we sign tevez then i shouldnt be talking about more signings becuase weve already spent a rather large wod of cash but theres one player that i saw in the under 21 championship and he looks like an absolute star .his first touch is second to none, he carries the ball like a brazilian ryan giggs,(even though hes dutch before anyone corrects me on that)his crossing is david beckham in his hayday and best of all his favoured position is left back , his name......roysten drenthe.
