Supposedly, they and Chelsea are both very interested after his stellar play in the Euro's. Mario Gomez didn't show up in the Euro's for Germany, but he supposedly is commanding an outrageous transfer fee of 50 million pounds and has Real Madrid, Man U, Chelsea and Barcelona all very interested. I think considering his performance at VFB Stuttgart last season and his young age, he's going to be a superstar if he stays in top form. I don't know about that transfer fee though. That would break Zidane's record.

I am a huge Germany fan, and would highely recommend buying Bastian, he's played great at Euros and I've seen him play at Bayern Munich and he played well there too. And he's still pretty young. I met Jurgen Klinnsman at a charity event in California not too long ago, and he seemed pretty excited to coach Schweinsteiger, Klose, Podolski, and Lahm on a club level. This was a while ago mind you, but I also wonder with Man Utd's saga trying to sign Hargreaves, if Munich ownership will be so willing to let go of Schweinsteiger to the same club.

What? I didn't foul him, I just nudged him a bit

Bayern is a huge club and they might not be too happy to be a feeder club. There should be a partnership deal. Example:

Saha wants/needs to leave: give Bayern the first option. Podolski wants out: give United the first option. Simple enough, eh?

I think United's relationship with Bayern could have been better if they had agreed to give them RVN the summer that the whole Hargo saga started.

Dealing with the triumvirate of Rummenigge, Hoeness and Beckenbauer is a right pain in the arse, but still more straightforward than trying to do business with Aulas at Olympique Lyonnais. A lot may depend on what kind of promises can be made and kept by Onkle Klinsi. Hitzfeld was always Hoeness' rent boy, but Klinsmann has never been one to put up with their kind of old-school crap, which is why he left the club as a player. Whatever happens here will be very interesting politically. If Klinsmann can't keep Schweini and Podolski he will not be whistling on the way to work. Additionally, if Schweinsteiger is allowed to leave, Chelsea will obviously outbid United. It will be interesting to see if the kid owns any moral fibre, and has the guts to bypass playing with Ballack, a colleague he is clearly not enamoured of, and join United. Question: If United have a promiscuous amount of cash available to lay out for the kid should Cristiano leave: Is he the one?

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

Andrei - United agreed - but Ruud didn't want to go after Real became interested.

If Chelsea buy Robinho / Arshavin, they're not going to get Schweini as well.

I think he would be a good signing,if united were to buy a player like santa cruz Sweinsteiger is the kind of player who could provide him with quality crosses in from the wings and is also capable of grabbing a few goals himself.

Ahmed, United did not agree, that is why Rummenige was so pissed with United and pulled the plug on the Hargo deal that summer. Well, that is how I remember it.

Andrei - United had a valuation for Ruud - and while Bayern may have matched it once Real became interested Ruud made it clear that he won't go anywhere else. Bayern had eventually offered the same amount of money that Real did.

The three clubs in the world every player or at least most players dream of going to today are Real Madrid, Man Utd or Chelsea

Man Utd...for stature, tradition, prestige value, old trafford....something about playing for manU turns you from ordinary.....i've seen players turn from average to godlike....Yorke, Van Nistelroy, Ronaldo...we all know these guys were relatively small entities until they played for ManU.

Real Madrid....to win titles...no-one can match their records...9 champions league, 30 la liga!!!! Freakin incredible!!!!

    Chelsea...to get rich....roman abramovich

so based on that i think Schweiny would blow up if he went to ManU.

He's really a good buy for a big club.

Another player i think would fit well for ManU is Engelaar...but he's gone to Schalke.
Since Roy Keane left...that grit was missing....Scholes, Hargreaves, Carrick, Alan Smith all tried to fill it but still...it wasn't there like how it used to be.

That guy who you know will win the ball and will make that tackle, and will take that card to break up an attack, and is always at the top of the box to blast anything coming out right back in.

Roy Keane was really a great player.

Scweinie is a fantastic mildfielder, ideal player for MU style of play! But the main question is will he make a great duo wid Cristiano? But rhianjoseph is right when he talks about a central mildfielder.I'm sure MU needs one more than even Scweinie..But that would still be a bargain!!

Think about what you are saying, and say, what you are thinking about.
