Which player has been the surprise of the season so far?

My bet would be Anderson though Pato is not far behind.

    Cue the Nani jokes...

Really? I thought Anderson's season has been mediocre, maybe it's just the hype he came with.

Mmm, Adebayor? Maybe i'm being biased lol; What about... Manuel Almunia, Bacary Sagna.

Kyle, I - and it seems many other Man Utd fans - tought that Anderson was just another version of Kleberson, but he has really impressed. I mean he has been phenomenal at times: in the PL vs Arsenal and Liverpool he came out on top of both Gerrard and Fabregas. I think he has been better than Scholes overall this season.

Sagna is a good shout. He was so underrated at Auxerre and I am very happy to see him play so well even though he is at Arsenal.

duffman, I think that Bojan has been exceptional, but what about dos Santos? He has been something. They both have. So has Benzema and Pele from Inter, but Anderson is still my answer.

But Anderson isn't a suprise, any player that goes to Man Utd has to be good to make it at Premier League/Champ. League level, so he is expected to do well.

Maybe I don't rate him as I never watch United matches.

Actually, Rooney really surprised me, I thought he'd be better this year
The other one that didn't live up to expectations was David Villa, who didn't score until January this season

Can you really be a surprise if you cost as much as either Pato or Anderson did?

Arsenal on the whole have been the surprise of the season for me. After all, how many people said they'd fall on their face without Henry?

alanw, did you really expect that Pato would score something like 5 goals in his first month in Europe or that Anderson would play better than Scholes does? The expectation was that both these kids were "for the future".

I admit that I was one of those who tipped Spurs to overtake Arsenal this season. Yea right! LIke that's gonna happen now. I'll admit that they are the surprise team of the season (maybe alongside Juventus).
