Van Nisterlooy's record for Man Utd is a staggering 95 goals in 150 league appearance. It is no doubt that he was one of the best strikers in the Prem.

The question is: did he do enough to be mentioned under the same breath as Giggs, Schmeichel or Best amonng few others? Is he a Man Utd legend or was he just a good player?

Its your call, but please specify why.

    Cue the Nani jokes...

no. he is in the 2nd tier of great United players, but not on legendary status. didnt stay at the club long enough and didnt win enough trophies with us to be a legend.

He's going to go down as a great but not a legend. His last few months were too acrimonious really. That said, he was our most natural goal scorer in years.

He is a legend no doubt!! his goal scoring record at united is probably the best (im not sure who's got the best goal scoring record at united).. he may not have won as many titles but he's a man utd legend! Henry won like 1 or 2 premiership with arsenal and he's their legend so why not van nistelrooy be man utd's legend!
as u have seen last season andrei schevencko struggled to gel into premiership with chelsea, ruud got straight into it scoring 30+ goals in his 1st season at united. not to forget the 30+ goals he scored in his 1st season in spain with real madrid..
he came to united as a GREAT player and left as a LEGEND! end of story
