Coming into the 09/10 season, Milan have an incredible squad of gifted players. But how many of these players are past their prime?

A defence of Nesta (32), Oddo (31), and Kaladze (30) all have quality, but can they really best the speedy legs of opposing teams? Pirlo and Gattuso as well are getting older, along with the ageing Seedorf.

A team was to be built around Kaka but now that hes gone, his replacement is the ever-ageing Ronaldinho.

    Whats your opinion?

Sure, the team might be getting old, but now that's just adding experience to the squad, no? They've still got Pato as a shining light for the future, but people like Nesta and Oddo and Pirlo are all only good for the team. Of course, they will want to invest more in their youth squad to prepare for the future, but at the time being it's not age that's keeping Milan back.

They sold the man who everyone thought was going to carry Milan in the coming years: Yohann Gourcuff.

Nesta, Pirlo, Ronaldinho will be the backbone and crucial players next season.

Well I tip Juventus to win this time round.

I wont bet on Pirlo sticking around for the start of the season. Milan have made it clear they are listening to offers after stating that he is "not for sale at that price" when Chelsea's bid came. Seems to me a couple or more mil would do for Chelsea...

then Seedorf will have to step up to create chances for Pato.

Ambrosini as well, he is the captain.

things better not get past Gattuso, otherwise, it is surely a goal.

Really? He signed for Parma anyway, didn't he?

That defensive line will be bloody fragile in a few years unless they "youngthen" that area.

Ok, possible signings for Milan ? Who would be good for them ? Italian clubs are having lesser money by the minute, finances are a big problem, they arent the same great league they were in the '80s and '90s. Here's my opinion:

GK: Stick with Dida as, for Goalkeepers, his age isnt that bad or sign Marco Amelia or Hugo Lloris.

DEF: Oddo is definetely up to it, decent RB. Could they sign Mexes ? Or Juan ? Grosso for LB...or Phillipe Lahm, if possible ? Felipe Luis of Deportivo ?

MID: Too many oldies, apart from Flamini. Need to buy strong replacments as quick as possible. Sneijder is a big possibility and would be a great signing. Van Der Vaart is a possible target too. Anyone know about that Italy U-21 international, Luca Cigarini of Atalanta ? I havent seen much of him but if the hype around him is true, he's capable of replacing Pirlo. I would've also said Elano a few days ago but now......how about Jeremy Toulalan ??? Blaise Matuidi, is he good enough to play for a club like Milan ? Riccardo Montolivo ? I also think Argentine Maxi Rodriguez would be a great addition to the Milan squad.

FOR: Could they manage to bring Giuseppe Rossi back to Italy ? Huntelaar is also a possibilty with Real Madrid looking stupid enough to sell him. Hopefully Pato can make his mark in Milan history.

Now, dont get me wrong, I'm not a Milan fan..infact I've hated Milan since THAT 3-0 loss. This is just an opinion on how one of Europe's top clubs can recover and hopefully return to the top of European football. I have all the respect in the world for AC Milan and would hate it if a club like that fell out of the top of European football.

Milan will definetly bounce back, but they need to do it soon or else risk putting all the pressure on young Pato to score. I reckon a better defence and a better midfield should do the job. Van der Vaart would be good.

A.C Milan are waiting too long to pull the trigger. They need a young goalkeeper, a left back, 2 centre backs, replacements for Pirlo and Seedorf, at least one winger and two strikers. They've been talking on Univision about how Galliani was offered Hernanes cheap, but turned a deal down and that even Ronaldinho's brother thinks he's got to be put in serious rehab. Pato, Boriello and Flamini are the nucleus of a new beginning, but it's going to take a long time. Nothing much is going to happen till Berlusconi gets his personal life sorted out.

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

Lloris is not good for Milan , i recommend Frey for GK though..

how about buying Sneijder + Van der Vaart?maybe it can strengthen their mid..

mufan's utter lack of knowledge of English makes his joke all the funnier. Haha!!

Pipo Inzaghi will help Pato with the scoring. He is best at taking advantage of the offside trap.

Jankulovski crosses should be good for Pipo. at one time, he was the best Czech player of the year.

Flamini's passing is good and can play a number of positions.

Xerxes, it wasnt without reason that he got called up for Italy in the first place. You could say the same about Mario Gomez.

Honestly I think Cudicini should go to Milan and finish his career there like his dad who was one of the best GK Milan ever had. He deserves better then sitting on the bench and watching Gomes play,,,,,

Giuseppe Favalli is still playing for Milan next season right? he could play CB!

me thinks that Abbiati will keep Cudicini on the bench for some time.

Bonera should be exchanged to Palermo for Frey. good deal.

Wait, Frey doesn't even play for Palermo

Oh wait, his brother centre back does, doesn't he? Nicolas Frey, I think?

And why would they tried an established Bonera with a bloke that is mostly unknown? Is he good?

my bad, Seba Frey is with Fiorentina.

how about trading Kaladze for Seb Frey?

Senderos has moved to Everton right? i thought Milan might sign him since Maldini was gone.

I think its still gonna be 3 or 4 years before AC return too being the best team in Milan. There team will make top 4 in Italy but on the European stage i just don't think they have the legs or sharpness to be a real threat.
