with 3 top noch signing, Marseille can definitely challenge the Ligue one contenders and do better in the UCL.
    The signings included:
    Lucho Gonzalez
    Souleymane Diawara
    Stephane Mbia (confirmed today)

I was tired of Lyon dominating the league for 8 over years, I might back Bordeaux to repeat their form as well.

Thats what I've been screaming all summer! BTW you forgot another strong defender in Eduardo Cisse'. This guy is a veteran and POWERFUL! He'll be a great addition as well as a mentor for rising 1st squad players like Zubar and Civelli. I can't wait for August 8th. The TRUE blues will win the cup!

  I thought they got him on loan. I saw rumors but never anythig confirmed. He is still on the official roster at OM.net so I'm just going by what they said. Either way its gonna be a great year for Marseille

It does make it interesting now Lyon have finally begun to lose their grip. Lucho Gonzalez is a quality addition but there's still time for Bordeaux to get a few eyebrow raising signings of their own.

And now Lyon are after Cissokho and Bastos too 8O From where are they getting this money ? I didnt know clubs in France had this sort of money! Pretty sure they had to pay a lot for Lucho, £20.3m for Lisandro, £10m+ for M'Bia and now Bastos, who is reported to be worth £14m, and Cissokho, who is worth £10m+.... 8O 8O 8O what's going on ???

french clubs are ahead of Germany...was not surprising at all. Lyon bought Keita for 18 mil and Bodmer for 13, no surprise.

Marseille definitely has a chance. They got 2 solid strikers in Niang and Kone, a very good holding midfielder in Cana and now M'Bia, as well as Lucho who will add some fire to that squad. Ben Arfa still has loads of potential and having him supporting those two strikers with Lucho, Cana, and M'Bia in the midfield will be a great team. Not to mention Mandanda is probably the best goalkeeper in Ligue 1. Lyon will of course challenge as they have signed Michel Bastos, Lisandro Lopez and Aly Cissohko. Bordeaux may slip as many clubs have been interested in their striker Chamakh and they have yet to really make any moves except signing Carasso again and making the Gourcuff deal permanent

I can't quite tell where Lyon will end up next year. The sale of Ben Arfa after now losing Benzema looks a bit silly in hindsight, but the signings of Bastos and Cissokho are interesting as they both could fetch larger fee's from a bigger European club in the future. What's Lopez goalscoring record been like?

it was fairly poor the season just gone in the portuguese league, but the season before,he got something like 24 goals in it,plus he was prolific in the CL last season too so hes a definite threat

Just seen Lyon linked with Vagner Love from CSKA as well, I think they'll make up for the loss of Benzema. They shouldn't be written off next season, they'll want to win that title straight back. Could well be one of the best seasons for a while in Ligue 1
