Tottenham fans are dreaming of overtaking Arsenal, Newcastle fans are dreaming of the Champions League and West Ham fans are dreaming of ... welll, anything better than the nightmarish last season.

Then you have Chelsea fans dreaming of winning their title back, Manchester City fans dreaming that Eriksson is actually going to help them win something, Sunderland fans dreaming that Keano will take them to Europe, Manchester United fans dreaming of retaining the title and Liverpool fans dreaming of stealing it from them.

For the love of god, it's just early July - can we wait till August at least and see all the signings. Not that it would matter anyway, but still.

So let's see now - what is the craziest delusion of them all?

    You've got 3 choices:

    Newcastle United hitting top 6?
    Tottenham in the Champions League?
Manchester United winning the Champions League next season?

spurs and magpies are definatly up there now with the big 4.

i personally love to watch spurs, they've a very attacking and fluent style of play. quite similar to barca's i'd say.

so now back to the quest, yes magpies will hit top 6,

spurs will be in the playoffs for CL,

and united will reach the finals for CL.

Manchester United winning the Champions League. Newcastle were 7th the season before last with a worse squad than we have now - so it's not a million miles away for us to get to 6th next season - particularly if Sam can get the best out of players like Dyer, Duff and others who have not played to their potential for a while. Also if Sam can reduce all our injuries next season - that would also help us enormously.

Arsenal fans dreaming that they can start topics on forums and have everybody believe that they're the best team in the league....even Gallas knows you're sh*t!

All of them can happen. The Spurs' football is prettier than Arsenal's at times and always more efficient. Newcastle can hit 6th place if Everton has a bad season but not higher. With Tevez Man Utd have a real chance at the Champions League but they might have to sacrifice their league ambitions. I just cant see them doing a CL-PL double and from the two I would rather they win the league unless we meet some Italians in the CL...

By far the most delusional fans are Arsenal fans. It has been three years of continously ssying "next season it will happen". Now that Henry is gone and if Fab leaves, I wonder if they will ever again have belief to say "wait for next season" again.

    Cue the Nani jokes...

everyone in the Prem other than Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. Even Arsenal are now members of the Big Dreams - Little Hope Club. The rest of the league should just play for fourth spot in the order and call that their championship. The big three are stacked, packed and ready to roll over the rest of the league. I think the the third place team this season (probably Liverpool) will finish ten points or more ahead of the fourth place team. The top three will fight it out until the end but for Tottenham, Newcastle and the rest, keep dreaming. Nothing ever really changes.
