New Argentina head coach Diego Maradona has arrived in the UK to meet his country's Premier League stars Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

Maradona, who was appointed earlier this week, visited Manchester United's training ground to speak with Tevez. The 48-year-old is then expected to meet Mascherano, who he has pinpointed as captain, in Liverpool. His first squad also includes Newcastle duo Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez.

Maradona is preparing for his first match in charge, a friendly with Scotland on 19 November.

Since making his dramatic return to football, Maradona has been dashing across Europe to meet his squad. On Thursday, he travelled to Spain to meet his players at Real Madrid as well as Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, although the 21-year-old is being rested for the Scotland match.

Say what you want about the man's personal life, I like his new style of management. He's not wasting any time on ceremony, he's just getting the job done.

Flying around the world to meet players doesn't mean he'll do something good. I honestly don't think he will do the best part of the work. The real man behind everything is Bilardo. Maradona is just the "pretty" (yeah right! haha) face in front of everything. And a game vs Scotland is not hard enough to determine if he will actually be good. When they have to play vs Brazil or Paraguay again or simply a friendly vs a team really on their level we will see.

Didn't say he'd do good, I just said he's not one for ceremony. We'll see what he does against Scotland and then in the World Cup qualifiers, plenty of them to go...
