So if you had an unlimited budget (which they probably have!) at Man City who would be YOUR summer targets?

    Im not saying they should sign all the following players (!) but personally my shortlist would include;

GK - Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Steve Mandanda (Marseilles)

LB - Aly Cissokho (FC Porto), Phillip Lahm (Bayern Munchen)

RB - Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Maicon (Inter Milan), Rafinha (Schalke)

CB - Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Naldo (Werder Bremen), Miranda (Sao Paulo) Fabiano Santacroce (Napoli)

LM - Angel Di Maria (Benfica), Hatem Ben Arfa (Marseilles)

RM - Maxi Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid), Sotiris Ninis (Panathinaikos)

CM - Marek Hamsik (Napoli), Jean Makoun (Lyon), Lorik Cana (Marseilles), Lucho Gonzalez (FC Porto), Hernanes (Sao Paulo)

ST - Amauri (Juventus), Diego Milito (Genoa), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli), Keirrison (Palmeiras)

From that list i would do my best to sign Lahm, Maicon, Chiellini, Naldo, M Rodriguez, Hernanes, Hamsik, Keirrison and Amauri. That is a lot of signings but what a difference it would make to the City squad!

    Your thought's.....

thats actually a good list, not full of stupid targets.but the lack of top euro football is gonna hinder city,no matter how much they throw at the players

You don't have to know lots of chords to play songs that matter

Yes i think they could realisticly sign the majority of players there, especially being able to throw big money at them. I'm not sure being out of Europe for one season will be a massive problem because the long term 'project' at City might be very appealing, not to mention the £££....

buffon, maicon, amauri and chiellini will defintely not go.the rest city have a chance, although not much.money isnt influencing everyone these days, theyre usually earning enough as it is

The problem Shitty will have for a while is that the KIND of players who come to a club just for the money are not necessarily the kind of personalities you need to simultaneously build a team. Good examples of this whorish mentality would be Shevchenko and Ballack at Chelsea. I could see Hernanes arriving because he's got mates on the team, but I can also see Sparky, with his bollocks definitely on the line from the beginning of next season, being extremely dubious about the prospect of bringing in any more Brazilians to usurp his authority. He certainly wouldn't want any drama queens like Makoun, Rafinha or Ben Arfa coming in. Shitty's most reliable players,Shaysie Given, Nigel DeJong, Vincent Kompany and the flaky, but brilliant Stephen Ireland, need more clever.experienced performers to help out and give Robinho a regular kick up the posterior. Team-oriented players like Veloso, Bruno Alves, Pereirinha, and Albiol can be supplemented with relegation-bound reliables like Wheater, Greening, Taylor, Huth , Downing, and Guttierez. Flair players like Moutinho, David Silva, Joaquin and David Villa surely will be available if the Arabs are willing to double what they'd be paid by Real Madrid, Barca, United, Chelsea or Liverpool. Come to think of it, as Arsenal are always a seller club, why noi just buy the whole Gooner squad?

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

they can fuck off if they want my spaniards.id rather see joaquin play for real before running out for "that lot".veloso is in talks with city according to his agent, but we know what agents are like,so we cant be sure he actually is.about albiol though,i think he could be a top signing for us.hes versatile,he has played all across the back 4 for valencia plenty of times and he can play DM too.unlike carrick,he will get stuck in too.15m tops for him, bargain :P

i can see albiol or naldo (or both) going to city, a right back like rafinha would work well as i can't see glen johnson in city colors, or maicon... we need a defending mid like veloso with city

i like gasheadwes' list , its fairly realistic and not so full of the players the tabloids are linking city with. No of the worlds greatest plyers will head there yet as they will want automatic champs league football at the club they head to but with a list of possibilities like gasheads they'd surely be in the running.

If they're laying out 50M for Buffone and offering 150M for Messi, I think they want to win NOW!

Man city need a few class players, get rid of the muck - elano, vassel, benjami, jo, hamann, johnson, fernandas, Ball etc. Good team for next season: GK - Given, RB - Richards, CB - Dunne, CB - ?, LB - ?, MF - Robinhio, Ireland, Wrigh-Philps, Kompany, ? ST - ?
Subs: Hart, Schmichael, Zabeletta, Onchua, Bridge, De Jong, Bojinov, Sturrige, Evans & Bellamy.
Buy:CB - Helgura (out of contract in summer), LB - Jansen or lahm, MF - Miguel Velosa, ST - Drogba (if he dosnt mind no champions lg)+ santa cruz or Eto, Villa. (i do think they need a top top forward just to make a statment at least. Also try to bring in a few good quality players to bring quality not quantity to the squad, may look to some of the players that may be relagated i.e. downing, o neill,

Onouaha is a better centre back than Dunne & Dunne will be sold in the summer. Kompany will go to centre back & Veloso will play with either Zabaletta or DeJong in DM. As for Drogba he will most likely miss the champions league anyway besides Hughes couldn't handle him Robinho is one thing Drogba is another!

Wagner Love/ Goran Pandev/ Andre-Pierre Gignac/ Santa Cruz up front
Gourcuff/ Diego/ Marek Hamsik/ Gohkan Inler/ Alexis Sanchez/ Miguel Veloso in the Midfield
Naldo/ Raul Albiol/ Mamadou Sakho/ Nicolas N'Koulou to bolster the defence
I think they're fine in the Goalkeeper Department, Given is top notch and Joe Hart is going to be quality in a few years' time

They desperately need defensive quality in midfield and in defense... I'd go for one of the EVERTON boys (lescott, baines, Jagielka) + Hangeland..
    Ujfalusi, Santacroce, Jansen, GROSSO,.

On the attacking side i think they should snatch the likes of mario gomez, podolski, and most importantly Trezeguet..
they desperately need a poacher that is a Tower and a gurantee success.. plus he is very experienced and robinho would make a great partnership as his second striker.
Trez has 3 years of football on him .. he scored 20 goals last season with a struggling juve side.
I'd definitely go for Trez and teveZ.
