After declaring that there would be no more signings for the rest of the summer, Fergie has managed to contradict himself in no less than a week. Signed for a currently undisclosed fee, Mame Biram Diouf has arrived as a relatively unknown entity to most of the United fanbase.

He will remain on loan at Molde FK, Solskjaer's former club, until the next transfer window in January. Currently the top scorer in the Tippeligaen, Norways football league, with 12 goals in 17 games, Diouf is renowned for his particularly impressive athletic ability and a heading prowess.

Diouf looks to be an exciting prospect, and more importantly, a far better signing than Fergie's previous dips into the African market.

Really? Shitter. I know he missed the Asia tour but I didn't know he was out for a while. It just gives a bit more room for other players to strut their stuff I guess though. I'm quite happy with the squad, I heard Hargreaves is looking to make a comeback in September. Lets hop that a) its true, and b) he doesn't get any more ruddy injuries! Hargreaves is the player we've been missing but he's no good hanging round with Richard Steadman all the time

I wont go that far. Honestly tell me, had you ever heard of this guy ? If yes, how good is he ? I had never even heard of him before this. Well..........ummmm.......what good can I say about this guy ? Oh yeah, I've never seen him play, so I guess I cant. Poor old SkySports probably couldnt even find his picture for the article on their site that saiys United signed him, they put Fergie instead...

Since no one knew him, he probably would have been cheap as chips, so its pretty low risk and hey, if he does become a star thats brilliant because he costed almost nothing :)

I've read a little about the Norwegian league on the times football website, and they have a few sections where they rate prospects from smaller leagues in Europe in FourFourTwo, he came up in that and got a 7.5. Plus the guys got more European experience than Manucho who was signed directly from Angola. It's a little surprising, no doubt, but he's not completely unknown

Ahmed, are you questioning the authority of the Gaffer? Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? As Bob says, it's a no-risk move. 60M for Kun? 130,000 a week for a pile of elephant shit like Adebayor? I like Senegalese players. The sum opposite of the Togolese, for example, they ask for and give no quarter. Clubs like Molde are a visa pipeline for African players. United have a long standing relationship with them already. This is their bread and butter, so I doubt that they're just doing the kind of hit-and-run of business like the Brazilians. Mame Diouf: You can definitely say it twice! Now, where's the holding midfielder we need?

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

United wont be flying to Indonesia, due to some bomb blast ...

Manucho is reportedly on his way out too.

@Duff: I think Diouf actually went on to score 4 or 5 goals in that match your talking about, Duff, against SK Brann. Match finished 5-2 to Molde. Now that I came to think about it, might've watched that match on "Goallissimo" on SuperSport3.

@Bobo: No, sir, I was just having a laugh. Sorry if it seemed accusatory.

I looked this guy up on the net AND MY OH MY, according to Wikipedia, his goal/game ratio is better than 0.5 ! 38 goals in 73 appearances for Molde. That's fantastic !

He wouldn't get in the team anymore with Owens arrival. Lets hope he doesn't do a Forlan.

Lol well I hope he does do a Forlan. Liked him. Liked his style of play. Good, strong, aggressive striker. Still remember his brilliant performances in the last ACN.
