Its only 48 hours until the game that could cement Sir Alex’s place as the greatest football manager of arguably United’s greatest squad. But what team would you pick with the uncertainty about availability of key players for either side? With Darren Fletcher, a player with a surprising amount of appearances in key games for SAF suspended and particular speculation still surrounding Ferdinand despit not making the KC Stadium lineup there are many selection headaches for the gaffer. If Iniesta and/or Henry play how will that affect his strategy? How do we best exploit the loss of both their first choice full backs and just how do you stop the supposed heir to Maradona’s throne, Lionel Messi himself? This is the team I expect the man with the plan to deploy come Wednesday night, but what do you think?

It will basically be the same team we played v Arsenal, just without Fletcher, so basically, what Duffman said. But I do think Fletcher would have started in this game had we had him available. What do you guys think about the comments of Barca players like Sylvhino who says he's got Ronaldo sussed or Pique who says he's got inside info on United and has told Barca players everything about the team, I hope this comes to bite Pique in the ass...

i dont buy into this theory that players can give info on what a creative team like united will do.its bull.nobody can predict what players like rooney, tevez, scholes, giggs and to a certain extent ronaldo(i dont believe hes much of a creative player) can do in a match

Plus Uniteds system has changed so much since last year, I don't think Pique had ever seen United play that formation last year...

anytime bob
i dont think pique played in that formation anyway.watching it from the bench is different to being a part of it.its probably some poor attempt at unnerving some of the united players

Duffmans right, its just poor mind games. Pique would have played against Ronaldo and co in training, but Im sure they know enough about his ability to give him trouble, especially without their first choice fullbacks. I think it'll probably boil down to either how well each defence plays on the night or whether Ronaldo or Messi turn up. Judging by the semi's, we should be in a better position

when it comes to how we play,i think we have to play a high line defensively, start putting pressure on barca quickly.it will expose them.valencia did it and came very close to a victory, and we are defintely better than them.they cant get any time on the ball.id nearly even consider putting park in the centre with anderson and giggs or scholes because he will put more pressure on xavi and iniesta than carrick will

well anyone thinking of how Barca's backline gonna be? Puyol, Pique, Sylvinho and Yaya Touré at RB? Seydou Keita can move into midfield.

I think it would be great for us if Yaya plays at the back, as Park or Ronaldo would outsrip him for pace and energy anyday. Its where we won the final last year with Ronaldo taking on Essien, and Yaya plays in the same mould as him doing the same filling in a year later.

Oh, please God yes yes yes Puyol at right back and Caceres with Pique in the middle!

not having Alves makes a huge difference for United. Even also the LB position.

Thats why you shouldn't try to play football against Barca! Madrid learn't that lesson & now so have we Chelsea nearly beat them by 'not playing' it's the way forward! Iniesta for player of the year

Right on, Azz! It's no disgrace to take a bite of humble pie from Barca. Xavi and Iniesta are beyond awesome.

it is just 2 reasons:
1) we didnt play well, infact was disappointing.
2) Barca were great, if not we made them look great.
both are not excuses, but facts.
