As a passionate Leeds United fan I felt the need to discuss the latest failure in our quest to return where many people (mainly Leeds fans!) believe we should be playing our football week in week out....THE PREMIERSHIP.

There is no doubt that Leeds United are a massive club with great history but the bottom line is that many of the current crop of players just don't cut the mustard. With a 37,000 strong crowd behind them Leeds didn't take advantage of some good chances namely, a penalty that reminised a pass-back by 30+ goal man Jermaine Beckford.

Millwall though must be credited for their performance and when they grabbed the vital goal through man of the match Abdou the Leeds fans sensed another year of heartbreak on the not so distant horizon and remained silent as Leeds ran out of ideas and missed out on another trip to Wembley.

Do Leeds have the right man in Simon Grayson to return to The Championship next season in what will be their 3rd year in the 3rd tier of English Football?

Thanks for taking the time to read this piece, appreciated.

i for one would love to see leeds back in the prem, its where they belong.how they failed to escape the league one holiday again i dont know.the team is strong, especially for that league.i think andy robinson needs to play more, hes a very talented player.and douglas should be sold, because hes a nothing player

I have to agree with you on both player comments.

Grayson seems to use Robinson as an impact player which i'm not sure I agree with. You are spot on with Douglas, how he has played at a higher level i'll never understand?

Hopefully we won't lose the bulk of the squad and we can bring in a couple more experienced heads who know what it takes to get out of the division but i've a feeling it'll have to be automatic as we seem to have some sort of hoodoo in the play-offs....

I wish the same fate on Newcastle that happened to Leeds!

I doubt Smith would go back to be honest. Beckford is a top finisher but all other parts of his game are, well, poor. You can't however, argue with the amount of goals he gets but whether he could do it at a higher level, I doubt.

I'd also love for Newcastle to suffer the same fate, they won't go down now though but IF they did then they'd be in a worse position than Leeds are now within years.

Hull drew today & leapfrogged them & with United already winning the league they will have a much better chance of winning against us
