As promised by Ramón Calderón, Real Madrid have made their first winter signing and it will be Dutch signing Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
Ramón Calderón promised a young striker for Christmas and according to Marca that is exactly what he has delivered this evening.
The Spanish press report that Real Madrid have signed Dutch striker Klaas Jan-Huntelaar and will unveil him in the transfer window.
The 25-year-old has been admired by the top clubs around Europe for a while now and this move has been on the cards, with Pedja Mijatovic declaring just this morning that he was a priority signing for the Spanish side.
The Ajax striker has scored an impressive 75 goals in 90 games for the Dutch side and will be eligible to play in the Champions League for the defending La Liga champions.
The only negative point is that he is injured until January and has never played for a top European side in the past, despite his age.
Huntelaar was made club captain earlier this season by coach Marco Van Basten and appeared at the European Championships for Holland, finding the back of the net against Romania.
Overall for his country he has played eleven times and scored seven goals, ironically struggling to get in the team because of the presence of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, the man he could well now partner at Real Madrid.
and definitely why Fergie didn't signed him in the first place...
seriously cant be Real ... ...
must be real
Shitting me right?
**** those ****, they're just ******* ******* when it comes to pissing someone off. **** them.
HUNTELAAR! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
he should go to chelsea...
i agree...what a fool

There's nothing virtual about Lazio's new shirts as they will be sponsored by the famous video game for the clash against Inter on Saturday.
Lazio have confirmed a deal with Digital Brothers, Konami Digital Enertainment GmbH and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 to become the first club to be sponsored by the football game. The club announced the agreement on Monday afternoon on their official website and a statement reads:
"Thanks the partnership with Lazio, PES 2009 breaks a new record as it's the first video game to become the main sponsor of a team for one game in the Serie A Championship, passing from the virtual to the real football pitch."
Lazio will wear a special shirt for the game against Inter this Saturday. The Biancocelesti's jerseys do not have a main sponsor this season [Pictured] but PES 2009 will be the first.
The Italian club as well as the games makers will hold a special press conference on the eve of the Inter match to explain the new deal.
It's only for one match though. Any Lazio and Pro Evolution Soccer fans will be eager to get their hands on the new jerseys but it is not yet known as to whether replicas will be produced for the fans from shirt makers Puma.
Since it's launch in October, 675,000 copies of the game have been sold in Italy alone.
The Aquilotti thus make history for becoming the first club to be sponsored by the famous video game.
ehem since when this topic had become somekind like PES thread?
yea hamy that was random...
so...Hamburg...post it in PES thread lor...
No big deal ... Expected it... with Ruud out for the season they needed someone in and who else is there in the market for them? Calderon has been under a lot of pressure since selling Robinho and and not getting a replacement... This guy won't cost that much ... Probably around $20m ...
This guy wanted to leave Ajax during the Jul-Aug window but no one came in to bid for him so he stayed back ...
or even $15 million though...
Having lost again at the weekend, this time to scrappy neighbours Getafe, Real Madrid are seven points off the pace at the top of the Liga, and they are in desperate need of reinforcement, so no surprise?
I mean both Raul and Ruud are in their 30s so why not get him, after all not many strikers that are suited for Real's name are available, esp for the CL
How embarrasing...lost to a team that drew with Barcelona a week before...
Higuain-Huntelaar
Raul-Ruud
But Huntelaar is out injured so wonder how are they think that he can save their season
He's gonna back in January...
Hunty better be good - otherwise Schuster will like Scolari - toasted!!!
Scolari: Worst manager in Roman's time... Behind Mourinho, The Tinkerman Ranieri and even Avram Grant ...
PHIL SCOLARI is under mounting pressure — as stats prove he has easily made the worst start of any Red Rom boss. He has a meagre win record of just 59.1 per cent after the home defeat to Arsenal.
Rhian,I wanna ask you something...if Avram was to stay this season, does the team still more stronger like last season?
That is compared to the 78.2 per cent effort Jose Mourinho put together in his first season at Stamford Bridge. The statistics are based on performances after 15 Premier League games and take in results in the Champions League and Carling Cup.
Next best after Mourinho is Tinkerman Claudio Ranieri with 77.3 per cent of games won in Roman Abramovich’s first year. And he got the chop at the end of the season.
Even flop Avram Grant managed a combined win percentage of 63.6 last term. Scolari copped another blow yesterday when he was told not to expect a rouble of Red Rom’s billions in January.
as far as i know, huntelaar is going for £20m.its a vital signing for real.raul cant last a game anymore, ruud is injured as we know, higuain is struggling to keep fit so all they have left is saviola.....
as for schuster, hes a dead man walking.mijatovic is waiting for another slip up to sack him
We’re making sure our players get back from injury. On that basis, we think we have a good enough squad to help us improve on last season.” Chelsea handed former boss Grant £15million for striker Nicolas Anelka from Bolton and a further £9m for defender Branislav Ivanovic in January. Chelsea could even afford to keep Serb Ivanovic in mothballs for nearly nine months before he got his first outing.
Kenyon claims his new-found prudence means Abramovich will not have to subsidise Chelsea FC from his vast wealth for the first year since he took over. The Blues chief executive added: “The long-term plan was always to be profitable,non-loss making and self-funding. It’s the right thing for Chelsea.
“That has not been dictated by Roman. “He’s absolutely committed to the club and absolutely passionate about it. But he is also a very good businessman. “Which is why he had enough money to put £600m into the club in the first place.
