Ok so here is where we give our impressions on the teams for this new season.

Chelsea....like I said before we are going to win the league this year...don't doubt it..we have the stongest team undoubtedly and after pulverizing Pompey and then showing we can win on an off-day against wigan...i think we have the right ingedients. Moreover if we get R......no WHEN we get Robinho, it will be a cold day for the Prem...teams will die at our feet!

Sunderland look to be the sleeper surprise of the Prem as I think Roy Keane probably bought the most players (and decent ones too) to change the whole look of the Black Cats First XI. When Jones comes back they'll be even stronger. New competition for places is going to bring out even better performances from mediocre players in thier bid to keep their place...like Edwards, Whitehead and even Chopra....Look for Sunderland to finish in the Top 10 this year

Tottenham....ah.....Tottenham. A lot of big names, A lot of money but no results thus far. I was looking at the Premier league Review Show and they spoke to many of the fans after their loss to Sunderland AT HOME. All the fans had a common complaint...there is no coherence....no cohesion in Spurs midfield. They say its like Jenas, Modric, Bentley and Lennon all are playing their own game. And Bent looks terrible. I dont no what Pavyluchenko is going to do to change all of that but Tottenham should be careful. They'll finish in the top 10 too this year but if they take too long to get their act together they won't challenge for anything....not even a UEFA Cup spot.

Villa..I have O'Neil's team pegged to be the most problematic to the Big Four this season...either when they play against them or by the results they will rack up during the season...they will be what Everton was last season...with some luck they may even go one better and take fourth from Arsenal.

Yes I said Aresnal for fourth. Sorry but a bandwagon of kids isn't good enough barring a miracle and ridculous chemistry. The Gunners don't look like they have any of those two factors right now. Van Persie still looks rusty and Ade...hmmm don't think he can do it alone. Toure and Gallas have doone some sketchy defending and Sagna doesn't look like the unpassable defender he looked like last season. But then again that is Arsenal so we know they'll grind out results even if some are going to be comeback-wins.

Opinions????? Even on some other teams????

Also feel free to disagree with me....you know I love that!

You don't win a silver medal, you lose the gold!

Oh one last team...Initially I had thought Stoke and Hull were going to be the worst of the Prem this year but both have garnered something since the start of the seson. I think in fact that after Phil Brown's moves Hull can at least survive in the Prem. However....WEST BROMWICH ALBION! They are utter BOLLOCKS! They will be going right back down! With no points so far I still gave them a sliver of light as they were the team among the three with recent Premiership experience. But after they were kicked out of the Carling Cup yesterday by Hartlepool...!yes League One team!...by a margin of 3-1....!yes they got three!...I am convinced they have nothing to offer the Prem.
On Saturday they play Bolton...can I hear a 0-3 anyone!!

You won on an 'off day' in your SECOND match? That's what Chelski do. They grind it out. You're going to see the odd one like the first, but the rest like the second. Definitely more Kardashian than Bellucci! Phil Brown was the tactical brains behind Sam Allardyce, so I hope he's got the moxy to stick with Hull and shape them into a survivor. Sunderland still look like a team put together based on whoever's available in the transfer market at a given moment. We still don't know, beyond Keano's rhetoric about Clough-Vs_ the Gaffer and taxi driving Berbatov to Old Trafford whether he can coach or just chatter to the press corps. Couldn't agree with you more about Spurs, br'a. It's going to take a while for anything to gel at White Hart Lane. Now that Danny Levy is the naked emperor, he's got little recourse but to get rid of Commoli in lieu of lifting his feet off his pea-sized bollocks. I'll give Ramos another year of sending Gus out to make excuses for him at press conferences before he buggers off back to Spain. Oh yeah, did you see J.T. chin Distin during the first corner of the game. Disappeared, didn't he?

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!

Bobo it seems like you wish to entertain rather than give a serious opinion most times.

We all note your descriptive ability and it's very funny at times....we appreciate it.

But hey dude sometimes you can keep it simple and just say what you think.

This league was just about 2 games started, and about 36 games left to play...enough said,'don't judge book from its cover'!!!

mufan's utter lack of knowledge of English makes his joke all the funnier. Haha!!

why can't we give an impression based on wha we've already seen?

we're not saying that anything said here is set in stone but hey that's the joy of a debate...just talking based on what you see...andy gray and tommy smyth do it every time...

and we listen to them over and over and enjoy it. so why can't we?

rhian - please be yourself, you're going to scare the kids otherwise :)

bobo - disagree strongly on Sunderland, but that's probably because I'm partial to Keane. The rest? Pompey will end lower than last season, Sunderland will end higher, Tottenham are anyone's guess, Everton will have some trouble, expect to see a new #5 (probably Villa).

Ahmed, it may not sound like it but I love Keano deeply and passionately. Great football brain. A born captain. The trouble with this Sunderland situation is that, because he fills the stadium, he gets carte blanche in decision-making. Getting promotion in his first season was a fine feat. In the transfer market, however, with no one saying no, as Martin Edwards did for years to Ferguson, he seems to subscribe to the egg/omelette theory. If you throw enough eggs at the wall, it will, eventually make a fine omelette. Well... Maybe! Richardson, Stokes, Whitehead, Halford and a lot of others looked great in the Championship division. Now there's a new batch of Spurs and Liverpool cast-offs. I wish him well, anyway, and hope they're not fighting relegation in April and every April ever after. Bringing in someone like Brian Kidd, someone who can improve the academy and come up with a plan and a strategy, that ought to work better.

That is the clearest you've ever sounded Bobo...thank you so much. And I wouldn't say they are cast aways...Tottenham made a mistake selling Chimbonda...he is a quality defender and Malbranque is better than most people give him credit for....He's no superstar but he gives his all on the field.
Ferdinand will do well in the back and with headers on set plays like he did at West Ham and Diouf though he doesn't score much is ideal for guys like Kenwyne with the attention he draws. It'll free him more when he comes back...also Diouf can cross the ball....great for jones. Cisse is quick and knows the Prem Game. He's also played and combined well with Diouf before so he was quite a shrewd buy.

Bobo you are the only person I kknow that doesn't think Keane's buying was shrewd and great and ambitious...All the critics agree and early results show his buys to be working so why describe his purchases as cast-offs...they're not. Since he's been at Sunderland they have only been going up...so he has to be getting it right. So he not just as you say 'throwing eggs at a wall' and hoping for a good omlette.

His buys are fantastic and working well for him on early evidence.

We're two games into the season, Rhian, but that little blue gerbil has to keep sticking its head out, doesn't it? "All the critics agree" do they? Are those the same critics who wrote off Ferguson at the beginning of the last two seasons? The same silly bastards who called Reading a marvel and Stevie Coppell a low-budget genius? The ones who said Ballack was finished? The ones who worshipped the perfect unbeaten Gooners so well that they recently won an F.A.Cup? Yeah, you're right, "on early evidence" Chelsea are guaranteed to win everything and Roy Keane is a brilliant shopper.

Some of the players he brought in aren't Prem class. The others - Malbranque, Cisse, Diouf, Ferdinand, Chimbonda - need a strong manager to whip them into shape and get them playing.

With some players it's as much about the man management as about the ability. Witness Sheva's case - not Mourinho's choice, and he couldn't settle in a system that wasn't made for him. In this case, the players are Keane's choices and he's bringing them in to fit a system he's developed over the last year of scrapping and surviving in the Prem.

I don't agree with all his choices though, but if his target is to get to a top-10 finish, it's hard to fault his buys (who else would you have got who'd be willing to come to Sunderland?) - he's brought in players with a point to prove, and Keane is the master of proving a point.

oh Dinho had a good game..Sheva looked a bit slow. Flamini looked good and Pirlo looked good. Pato looked good.

Maldini looked horrible. But Milan fans won't admit to that. So did Ambrosini.
