Right all the liverpool fans who call ronaldo for being a diver can stop righ now in this season and last season he must have dived for about 20-25 penalties. Because of this i have changed my mind and would prefer lampard in englands 11 rather than gerrard.

the terrible thing is he gets away with it WAY too easily.if he wasnt an england international he probably wouldnt get most of the penalties he has gottten from diving

Kudos to Stevie G Scouser because he does it so well. The grimace on his face reminded me of Robert DeNiro in 'Raging Bull': "You didn't knock me down, Ray!" Ronnie and Drogba ought to pay him for lessons!

face the fact,everyone will try to dive if they are in the penalty box, wht if u are playin and losin and is in the penalty box? u r challenged quite hard, wouldn't u try to go down as if its a really hard tackle??think bout it but he didn't dive like while not being tackled.... he was tackled
come on tht dive is not really obvious, if DROGBA, yes i can say he is an obvious diver......

I can see where you are coming from, but nobody is saying that Ronaldo or Didi are not divers - it is a well known fact that they are - all we are trying to point out is that Gerrard might not be the virtuous captain many people see him as - rather, he is a diver like those two clowns.

Ronaldo is far worse than Gerrard, for gods sake you can never get anyone that is as theatrical as Ronaldo.I never expected a dive fromm Gerrard but I know he did it for Liverpool & the supporters. AND PLEASE DON'T CALL MY BELOVED GERRARD A DIVER!!!!!!!!!!

Stevie G. Scouser is very very good at it usually, but the cameras caught him out this time and the referee admits, after the fact, of course, that he was played for a sucker. No big deal. Somehow, though, Nas says, it's Manchester United's fault. As usual, because your club is operated by a bunch of second-rate, silver-spoon-in-mouth executives who don't have a clue, Liverpool fans shift the blame for the club's shortcomings onto, dunh, Manchester United. Get over it Nes. Steve G is being called out because there is never a harsh word about him (except to say he and Lamps can't play together). He is a proven historic theatrical diver.

The simple fact is if Gerrard wasn't English, he'd get endless stick for his diving antics, as Drogba and Ronaldo rightly do. But as he's English he must be some kind of saintly Lionheart who no-one is allowed to criticise. He's a fantastic player, but deserves to be pilloried when he dives, which is a lot. Pathetic really.

hey Nes. This isn't personal. Ronaldo gets picked on by the English press because of his theatrics. Gerrard gets hailed as a hero despite the fact that he dives (your definition of the word may vary but there's plenty of evidence to support it).
I'm an England fan and love Gerrard, but I can't stand the dishonesty shown by the English press. This isn't United v Liverpool, for me it's me v the dishonest English press.
Of course his theatrics don't compare to Ronaldo's, or any other player's. Every player 'wins' fouls and penalties a different way. My enduring image of Ronaldo's diving is how he flew in the penalty area in the 2006 World Cup semi final against France with no player near him.
Even Kaka and Giggs have 'gone down easy' in order to win a penalty. Being a diver isn't bad, it's what one does to win a game, good and bad is your own interpretation of it.
I don't speak for Andrei or Bobo, but I like Gerrard. I don't like how the press make him into a god when they beat down on Ronaldo and Lampard, both exceptional players.
