oh,i was never in any doubt about it being great but its just for any newbies out there.plus like you said about letting us play it till we get the full version

well, downloaded it last night, spent the last 4 hours playing it (another work day lost to FM, what a surprise...).
Thoughts so far:
Crisp Interface - post 07 SI have done a great job on building sharp UIs.
Heavy on the System - The game is more comprehensive and more visual, this runs on a regular pc / laptop but requires a dedicated video card, 2ghz processor and preferably 2 gigs of ram to run fast. Vid card should do it, as I'm running it on a 1.6ghz, 1gig ram laptop with shared vid memory.
Press conferences - nice touch, you'll need to play several games before you get the different questions on player performances and transfer rumours, it's an interesting addition.
Manager Reputation / Experience - now affects player motivation. I call it the Grant effect
Player Availability - Might be because it's a demo version but there were a few players I couldn't find at the start.
Scouting Network - Upgraded, the system is now more comprehensive and more useful.
Training and Tactics and Coaching Staff - Didn't mess with this as I didn't want to spend 8 hours playing it today
Anyone know if we'd be able to use our saved games in the final version? I'm not going to play too much now if I have to start again next week...

Probably not Ahmed. Anyway, here is what I did last night:
Downloaded the demo and played for three hours... I find it a lot like the previous one. The scouting network is a touch better, but all that press conference is just smoke in the eyes. The one useful thing that I found in the new game is the assistant's report during the match. That work wonders if you use it.
Also, I think that the game is a bit messed up from a player perspective. I took Wigan and the assistant tells me that Titus Brable is error-prone. Yea right! Anyways, kidding, I actually took City and became frustrated that I could not get Aguero to come to me... by the way, in the game, Robinho is listed as a forward. What's up with that? I was so sure he is a left winger, it's unreal!!
Oh, and Stephen Ireland is listed as 21 years old. LOL. I thought he was more like 31!!
Cue the Nani jokes... -

i think the savings can actually be used with the full version.but overall im impressed.a few faults that should be sorted in the full version but im liking the new additions.somehow, its even more realistic.didnt think it was possible
nice one there about the grant effect ahmed

and andrei,i tihnk the reason robinho is listed as a forward is because thats where he played when he was with santos and when he first played with madrid
-

i cannot wait to get the full game.it looks brilliant
i played as city for a bit too.69 million to get a top half finish!yes please!robinho is a right bitch on the pitch, rarely listens to orders.cant wait to see the 3d pitch view too

assistant is fantastic, real help.
agreed with andrei on press conference being smoke.
another thing i noticed was how many players had 'worldwide' and 'continental' reputations - more than fm 08.

this is just a general FM question.when ye go to a club first do ye ever bring in certain guys for the backroom staff or do ye keep the people already there?

I keep them there. In the old game I used to sack Queiroz straight away and promote Meulensteen, but now, I just keep it as is.
-
Posted 1 year ago #
im the same but i was jsut wondering if things change, such as how players react to a change in style with new coaches.i never kept queiroz either, always took on cantona
-

i introduce new coaches gradually, over the first 2-3 seasons. My theory is that players are used to other players and coaches, so changing too much disrupts the harmony of the starting group (as does going rafa benitez on the starting lineup throughout the season) and that affects your team's playing form.
-

In theory, good idea Ahmed, but do you think that the game is that complex?
-
Posted 1 year ago #
If changing your starting lineup constantly has an impact on how you play, and coaches have an adaptability rating, and players can have favourite coaches, then imo the makers of FM are working towards that angle, even if it isn't fully implemented.
My philosophy is - if they're trying to build a realistic experience, then you'd better get as real as you can yourself. That's the best way to master the game.

Shah - you can download the demo via torrent (available on footballmanager.com). Or, when it's released on the 14th, wait a couple of days and I'll post the torrent here for people who can't buy it online or in stores to download it.

have my copy ordered.its gonna be a long week to wait.....
-

haha... btw how big is the demo? (how many mb?) cause I don't want to waste a day downloading and a bunch of HD space when it's coming out in a week and I better wait for the whole thing.

there is 2 versions.one, which only has the english and scottish leagues is around 169 mb i think and theres the bigger version which is 980 mb but has a lot more leagues.they both have faults, such as false injuries and the transfer budgets and some players stats usually change in the full version
-
Posted 1 year ago #
Hmm... Well I'll download the 980mb. I'll just leave it downloading overnight and play tomorrow!
-

i have a download limit on my modem and TWICE at 99% the bigger demo stopped downloading, but thankfully third time lucky it worked.although now i basically cant watch any videos in case i go over the limit and get a hefty extra payment.but its worth it

i tried fm from the torrent and all those instructions u gave AB on the other thread...didnt work or i dont know how to make it work.
-

prolly the later mate. which step did you get stuck on?
-
Posted 1 year ago #
Fm 09 is great! Press Conference is annoying though but at least something to keep you kinda entertained. And the mode to watch the game is great. Watching colored dots running up and down the pitch was kinda boring after a while. And yeah I hope they change things. I don't understand... My players got injured all the time! So annoying! But besides that it's pretty much the same. Still awesome obviously.

dunno, AB..i think one of the last cuz I had installed evrything from the torrent to the game..probably had problem in copying...
