I was going through a few of this year's articles on Soccerlens and came across the 2nd leg match report from United's CL semi-final against Barca.
It's a good read so I'd suggest you take the 5 minutes to do so, but one thing stood out for me and is especially relevant when we talk about Edwin van der Sar and his ability to be United's #1.
Edwin van der Sar - sir, you have been amazing. Regardless of what Kahn, Lehmann, Seaman and even James might think, you’re too old to play this game but you’ve done yourself and your club proud. We can excuse the jittery moments (and there have been a few) as long as you can keep making those timely saves and keep risking head and limb to catch the ball. Your spirit gives the team strength. Rock on.
