in management there is 2 ways to pursuit success, efficiently and/or effectively.
i would take effectively first before efficiently.
effectiveness means you get to your goal no matter what, playing dirty, buying a winning squad, hiring the most expensive manager etc. only after that can you say: Hey i am reaching my goals, maybe i should see which areas can i cut down on, using resources wisely, maybe cut down on wages, or sell a player for a profit when u have bought a player ready to replace him at a cheaper rate.

I laughed my ass off when you said that apart from "Ronaldo, Berbaz, Tevez and Rooney" our attack is shit... I admit that the statement is true: apart from having the four best players in England in our attacking department alone, we are bareassed in that department.
Out defence is also world class. Evra is by far the best left-back in the world on form and Rio and Vida were the most compact defensive partnership in Europe last season (statistically speaking).
So what if we do not have the flair of Deco or Ballack in midfield? We are better than anyone else everywhere else on the pitch... and our midfield is not about to be ran over either. Fletcher and Anderson and Hargreaves might not be flair players, but they do the horse-work which the other players need to make the team click and play well.
Now as to your four 'aces', let ask you:
Is Anelka better than Rooney??? Never mind Anelka, is Drogba better than Rooney? Are you having a laugh? Man Utd have a 22 year old boy who has scored more goals in his past six games than Anelka has scored since HE JOINED CHELSEA TEN MONTHS AGO! During the same six games, he has also scored as much as Drogba has in the same period (this calendar year). Not to mention that Anelka and Didi are 29 and 30...
