Everton chief executive resigns days before stadium decision

    Hmmm...the first thought I had (and that's been echoed by most people covering this news) is that Everton probably know what the decision is going to be on the stadium and that Wyness has resigned because of it.

    I realise that many Everton fans don't want the stadium to move outside Liverpool but frankly, it's not their decision to make. If Everton want to win titles, they need money to invest in the squad, and a big chunk of regular income is going to come from the stadium.

    However there are also concerns about the stadium bringing extra debt onto the club and that's something that needs to be sorted out as well (conflicting reports on this one - some say there will be debts, others say there won't be).

    A new stadium is a must - and I doubt that Moyes will hang around too long either if he doesn't see the club rising up to challenge for a CL spot.
