    Stars -

David Villa - Clearly he is a complete striker.

Ronaldo - Carried his club form to international level.

Podolski - Shines on the big occasions & works hard for a team effort.

But the most suprising inclusion should be the Dutch. Written off before the Tournament, they have put the world cup winners & finalists to the sword.
Whislt its hard point at a specific player, the Dutch works as a team, but Robben shone in his cameo, Wesley Snjeider also put in some solid performances.

    Flops -

Mario Gomez - Hasn't quite found his feet even though he received some good back up.

Luca Toni - I don't understand why Bayern pays him 192K euros a week.

How about Sneijder for a star? The guy has ben electric for 180 minutes so far.

As I flop, I would bring in Thuram. Two matches, two disastrous performances.

    Cue the Nani jokes...

I have to admit, i was one of the people who didn't think much of the Dutch. I felt they were contenders, but there seemed to be too much infighting & defensive weaknesses in the team.

I still have faith in the French. I cannot understand Domenech's team selection or tactics, but i still have faith they can pull it together.

Sneijder is amazing. The perfect dynamic mid-fielder i have seen in Euro so far. But what the hell has Robben been eating lately? I want me some of that. His form seems to be even better than i remembered his best ever being. Same goes for Van Bronckhorst.

okay lets start with the flops,
    thuram,anelka,benzema,pirlo,matterazzi,abidal,coupet, lehman.

    euro team so far

    Bogdan Lobonţ
    lahm pepe ramos Khalid Boulahrouz

Fritz Ballack Sneijder Robben (his 15 minutes on the pitch said enough)

    Podolski Ruud VS

Ronaldo flopped the whole turkish game, failed to impress against czech until the last half. Reasons, portugal doesnt have the quality in mid as man u does, there are about 3 people marking him either a lb/rb, with a cb, and a rm/lm.

"We win as a team, lose as a team and celebrate as a team."

Luca Toni - I don't understand why Bayern pays him 192K euros a week.

Raed, if you watched the Bundesliga, you would understand.

Raed...Luca Toni was the top scorer in the bundesliga last season...despite making significantly less starts than his other contenders. He's one of the best target men.He just hasn't really got the service..but then yeah..he hasnt done well at all

XerxesK...jus cuz ronaldo didnt score in the first game doesnt mean he had a howler. He kept the czech's on their edge...and truly showed his quality. And in the 2nd game..he had a hand in every of the goals.

    Stars:-Villa,Podolski,Ronaldo

Ribery:-His team may be doing badly, but he starts everything for France
Sneijder:-Perhaps the player of the tournament so far. Has been doing it all...taking free kicks...running the midfield along with van der vaart with magnificent passes..providing a hand in defence..and scoring spectacular goals.
    Giovanni:-Has had a magnificent 2 games

    Nearly there
Deco:-Has been providing the forward thrust for portugal
Ivica Olic :-Had a magnificent second game
    Van Der Vaart:-running the midfield
    Torres:-Been pretty lively
    Ibrahimovic:-There thereabout

for all the hype that has surrounded these players...and the kind of rating and publicity the media and football pundits lauded over them prior to the tournament, i'm sorry but they are yet to warrant those accolades...(based on this tournament not the bundesliga or any other that they play in)
the hallmark of a superstar ...not a star...a superstar is to produce the form or at least prove the hype that surrounded your name was worth it on both fronts...international and club.
example..remember the brazilian ronaldo for 2002 world cup? i admit i have never been a fan of ronaldo BUT he has my utmost respect as a player who has performed on all levels and lived up to the hype that the pundits smeared over him before any tournament.
In that respect I say LUCA TONI is a flop!
Boswinga still looks shaky and not like a man who is worth 20plus million
Torres has finally managed a lone single solitary goal as opposed to David Villa's FOUR
SO he is a FLOP by the standards he set.
You can tell me all sorts of technical bullshit like he makes it happen for other players but the bottom line is he is a striker...strikers get paid to do what? - SCORE!
    so he IS a flop.

i wouldnt count nasri as a flop considering domenech has only given him about half an hour of playing time.....give him a proper game before you judge his performances

Toni has been crap all tournament or havnt you been watching italy's games. i guess its has something to do with bad luck as well since his goal against romania was on side.

by the way the title is Euro 08 stars & flops not bundesliga top scorer. :)
