Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum but thought I'd bring this to your attention. For anyone who bets on football (or other sorts in Euopre for that matter),you'll know how bad the value we get on our odds are.
Well the reason for this is the EU's decision to allow the governments of Portugal, Germany, Greece and various other countries stopping their citizens accessing the bookmakers of their choice. Instead these guys have to go through the state-run bookmaker, which has a total monopoly. Not only do consumers in those countries pay more, but everyone who bets on European events, because of the reduced competition between gambling suppliers.
It's out of line, letting governments protect profits rather than letting the market set prices, as it should be. There's a petition at http://www.right2bet.net trying to make betting cheaper for everyone.
I don't want to pay more to bet than I should have to!
