he is a goalscorer. training with rooney at united now so could work. no one else really demands a strikers position other than rooney so worth a go.

Irrespective of whether or not Almunia is or is not a good keeper who won't be picked for England as there is a gentleman's agreement not to pick nationalised players. His replacement would either be James or Foster and as Foster has played so few games then it should be James.

Fabrice Muamba- that one is a bit out of left field, not a bad player and come to think of it I can't think of any better. Mark Noble is probably worth a mention though.

You asked about our squad if the world cup was THIS summer not next one. And THIS season Owen hasn't done nearly enough, niether has Joe Cole (injured) Crouch merits a placejust look at his England form 16 in 34 thats almost 1 in 2 plus he's stayed relativly healthy and been playing loads of games for pompey.

As for Muamba and Noble they are both good rising talents but they aren't ready just yet for such an important competion.

I still think that Robinson deserves a place somewhere...

2 Questions 1. Why is every1 picking Ashley Young? 2. Why are you all putting him on the right?

Yea Young plays on the left, and I think lennon deserves a chance, he's faster then walcott, and just a lil better a crossing.

joe cole hasnt been fit for most of the season but he still changed the game against andorra at in the first game. but would have to start the first game on the bench and come on in second half to prove he hasnt lost his touch.

there is a gentleman's agreement not to pick nationalised players.

we don't seem to have a problem with having a foreign manager. besides other countries do it so why not

would be a step in the wrong direction for me. especially as glenn johnson looks ready to take the right back spot permanently. and jagielke is perfectly capable of deputising.

Good squad except Rodwell is nowhere near ready, needs another few years and more playing time for Everton espeically.

And also at this rate Hargeaves will never walk again let alone play.

Even at this stage, Rodwell looks way wiser positionally than Upson and Lescott. Unfortunately, because both Rio and Terry's backs are wonky these days, I expect them both to be very vulnerable at the end of a really long season. Ledley King being crocked seems to be all that Don Fabio can count on. I'd much rather trust Jags and Rodwell than Lescott and Upson. Mancienne may turn out well this coming season, too, if he gets some playing time.

i would take SWP ahead of Delph/Rodwell, SA2010 came a year too early for them.

You can't keep trotting out inconsistent wingers like SWP, Bentley, Lennon, Downing and Milner and crossing your fingers. It's time to commit to Young, Walcott and Cole. If Hargreaves is fit, he'll be a far tougher proposition for opposing defences as a fourth winger/wing back than SWP. He's certainly a better crosser of the ball than any of the alternatives.

Another thing I noticed is that you guys dont put Brown as a sub for the RB, but pick Lescott over him. Hopefully after a good run of games, Brown can overtake Lescott and make it to South Africa.

I think Lescott subs as a left back, Hamburg. You're right, Wes Brown is better. I hope he can stay fit this season.

    anyone rates Jenas?

He did score his first England goal when Don Capello took charge of his first game. i remember he was great box-to-box player for Newcastle.

but i guess there are many other talented CMs available for England at the moment.
