   Zhirkov follows striker Daniel Sturridge and keeper Ross Turnbull as the Blues build for next season.

   New Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said: "Zhirkov, Turnbull, Sturridge - these are Chelsea players.

   "Zhirkov is naturally on the left. I think he can do all the work and can play in defence and in between."

   Also:
   Ancelotti has also refused to rule out a return for Andriy Shevchenko with the flop striker due back for pre-season training this week after his loan at Milan - under Ancelotti - expired.

   'Shevchenko is a Chelsea player and I'll speak with him,' he said. 'Shevchenko will come to London on July 9 and work with us at pre-season and in this moment we will speak with him to do a right solution for him and for us.'

   A good signing, imo. I wont say that the transfer fee (rumoured to be around £18m) is too high because we've been saying that a lot lately about players. Wonder what this will do to Malouda, will he be off ? Or is Ashley Cole off ?

   I think he will challenge Malouda more then Ashley, Ashley will stay for sure.

   Yeah, Ashley is more defensive. But with Malouda showing a ise in form at the end of last season, I;m not sure if Zhirkov was the best signing...

   thats a signing that scares me slightly.zhirkov looks to be a top class player,lets just hope he does fuck all with chelsea

   You don't have to know lots of chords to play songs that matter

   I think it would take sometime for Zhirkov to coop up with English football style...

   mufan's utter lack of knowledge of English makes his joke all the funnier. Haha!!

   I'm still a little unsure on Zhirkov. He may be fast, but seeing the last couple of CSKA games, he seemed to be too easily taken off the ball, not a good sign from the Russian league. EPL's known for its physical side, and still unsure about him. Still we're gonna give him time, right? Get behind the lad!
