they were getting it together towards the mid part of the season, then Rafa kept benching Keane and then sold him, its not that many partnerships that can flourish with only half a season played, but you do get the instant partnerships out there

The partnership of Cisse and Jones last season showed positive signs when both of them were fit. Poor old Sunderland, could've finished higher if they (mostly Jones) hadnt gotten injured.

Wayne and Owen will have the whole season to find out each others strengths and weaknesses and know what to anticipate from the other. Hopefully they wont get injured.

I think they'll play well. I remember Euro 2004 (I know it's a long time ago but still) they played pretty well together.

any chance that Rooney is going suffer on the left again with Berba and Owen partnering up front?

This has me a little worried, but with Tevez and Ronaldo out of the picture, I'm reasonably sure they'll just rotate the three strikers (with Marcheda getting the odd game) and keep Park out on the left, rotating with Giggs.

Yes,IF we are desperately to get the 3 points... Fergie REALLY REALLY NEED to start playing Tosic now...

Heres an interesting one guys, what about Schevchenko? nobody wants him although that could just be because he's rubbish now...

Yes, that's it, Robert. Manchester U wouldn't take the risk of having two aging, inconsistent strikers as part of his task force.

Yeah, just read that. Thought the typo'd Man Utd instead of Man City. 25 Million isn't bad, and I think he would do quite well. A consistent and recognised goal scorer would be nice (a la Rooney when he's not playing on the left).

Owen is a class striker and i think he's a good buy for utd....in fact I'd quicker pair him with Wazza in front over lazy-boy Berbatov....Regardless of injuries Owen knows how to score....and if he's fit consistently...he could be the steal of the season.

I reckon Fergie will ease Tosic into the side after pre season matches, wants to give him a taste of first team football. Pre season really is a great chance for new signings to get used to the style of play and new team mates.

rhian, Owen and Rooney have never worked, and Owen does well with a target man in Heskey. thus Berba will fit the target man role. so chances are either Roo and Berba starts with Owen playing an impact sub role or Roo on the left with Owen and Berba upfront.

Heskey does not play well for England its just that Gerrard & Rooney out on the left work miracles. If Eto'o comes Rooney will definately be a Winger!

Well, Berbatov ought to be able to do a far better job than Heskey setting up Wazza and Little Mickey. As to whether he is willing to sacrifice himself and his corpulent ego--we shall see!

I STILL MISS NOBBY & BOBBY!!!
