Personally I think Manchester is due for an overhaul.
Picture this Champions League 2nd leg semifinal against a full strenth Real Madrid at the Bernabeau...That means a fit Robben and Sneijder. Suppose you all are carrying a slim 1-nil advantage form Old Trafford...How would you like to know that the options at right back are: O'Shea, Rafael, Brown or Neville?
You need a quality right back...another Evra...because none of the options are on the level of Evra.
O'Shea is good backup and is kinda undefined as a player.
Rafael is too young to hold them for 90
Brown isn't that good. Good but surely not that good
Neville...time to retire.
Like I said the only guy you all have now that I'd trust in that situation is a fit Hargo.
Let's therefore assume your backline is Hargo Vidic Ferdinand Evra
In the middle after Ronaldo and Carrick, I don't think Anderson, Nani, Park, Scholes or Giggs are quite the options.
Anderson is good but is also still too young and needs time...
Nani...well you all know what I think of Nani.
Park is a workhorse but hasn't been the same since injury and even before that I don't think he has the pedigree to face the kind of talent Real boasts.
Scholes is not exactly the creator...I've always seen him as a 'dog midfielder' good reading the game and feeding of errors but not exactly the guy to go to who will make it happen form the center.
Giggs is too old for that kind of pace.
So you all need a commanding, skillful presence in the middle to go with Carrick. And another demon winger like Ronaldo.
So far that's 3 purchases.
Your striking options are fine with Rooney and Tevez. I think Berbaz is great but didn't suit Manchester's play. That 30 mill should have been spent on a striker that suits you all...and Manucho. Together that would have been a nice 4. For more reasons than one Berbaz doesn't fit. A personality like that will cause a rift in your top striking pair as you would have to keep three premier strikers happy...as it is doing right now. You needed another Solskajaer. Great but unopposing the top 2 and ready and willing to contribute when called upon.
So sadly one of those three has to go...the smart money is on Tevez. Which will be shattering loss.
As such your strikers ideally need revisiting.
Finally Foster need to play and you need a young capable backup. VDS is shaky in his old age.
Oh and your bench needs real attacking midfield options not Fletcher and O'Shea.
You need young...like about 25/26.....viable whipper snappers ready to kill coming on off the bench.
this of course is my humble opinion after watching you all this season....
