Achh tough choice...Maxwell I don't know if can hold a solid position but otherwise they're pretty equal...going for Barca simply because of rock-solid centre midfielders as opposed to Gago and Diarra.
its still barca.they are a far more superior unit.its still fairly unlikely that real team will properly gel,way too many ego's,plus its not a very balanced team in the first place
Im all for Barca. Players like Iniesta, Xavi and Messi have all risen through the ranks and understand what it means to play for Barcelona, and their spine is much more solid than Madrids. Its Diarra and Gago against Xavi, Toure and Iniesta that will probably be where the games are won and lost between these to, the forward lines are pretty much equal but Barca's defence gets my vote as well. Casillas is the better keeper though, obviously.
Yeah, Xavi and Iniesta are 100x better than a combination of Diarra and Gago. Yaya Toure can be comparable to Diarra in many ways, but in the end the playmakers in midfield for Barca are just so much better than Madrid's.
Well here is my view:
1-Casillas has lacked form since last winter and Valdes has been the best GK in La Liga
2- Ronaldo, Benzema and Kaka need to adapt no only to each other, but to the League.
3-There is no weak link in Barca maybe except LB, but in Real there are many: Diarra and Gago will get destroyed in the mid. Real dont have a LB worth looking at since Heinze is now sold to O'M, Marcelo cant defend crap, and now they got Arbelo who is even worse the not only on his natural position, but also compared to Marcelo and Heinze and he has to play LB 
Clear winner is Barca
I agree with the Casillas form, but if you had the choice of both in their prime, I'd still go for Iker. He was the only decent player on the pitch for Madrid when they played Liverpool in the CL, if it wasn't for him they would of conceded way more than the 5 they did over two legs.
Madrid have great individuals but Barca have an effective and proven team mentality, as well as superstar individuals
Who else thinks Pique is underrated? he's a solid center back for someone so young...remember him charging forward to score Barca's final goal in that 6-2 rout of Madrid? bobo, could he go in your Total Football XI?

barca are far better than real. the good thing about barca is that they play like one unit. though real is like the galaxy of stars with the players got their own ego. i will take a lot of time to create chemistry between these players. in 2003-2004 real madrid got players like beckham,figo,zizo,roberto carlos and raul but they cant make a special impact.
Yet they managed to win league titles. I'm not really sure who will win this year, Barca have a better squad, but then again Madrid have high expectations for themselves. Should be an interesting season.
