I say just one down the side, that's it.

i say the right side top and bottom. the more money the better. ahmed deserves the cash and we can get more members possibly. it is the same 15 people

I liked the old layout style where all the most recent comments on articles could be there to see so you could keep track of who was replying to something you had said.
In terms of advertising though, it's your site so whatever works for you. So far it seems user-friendly (apart from the above point i mentioned).

yea, I miss that too Spiral, but it was one of the things that was slowing the site down a lot. I first shunted that off to this page ( http://soccerlens.com/tracker/ ) but then removed it altogether because it was slowing things down.
