Look at Denis Wise and his awful tenure at the other Magpie&#39;s in the North East.</p> <p>A couple of the players and the manager have gone on record saying they don&#39;t really know what Sven&#39;s doing there. He hasn&#39;t been involved in day to day football for a long time, and his best record was at Benfica. Managing Benfica is a whole different universe to the lower tiers of English football, he must of been hiding a smirk whilst signing on the dotted line.</p> <p>If his recruitment was for the potential Championship years and beyond, then they&#39;re wasting a lot of money to let him sit on his arse until then. Plus, if they climb through the ranks that quickly, they could probably hire someone who is experienced in the role already, with better contacts and an ability that actually matches his reputation. Lee Hughes will be top goalscorer or thereabouts and Karl Hawley is also a fantastic signing and will score goals at that level. Ben Davies is probably one of the best midfielders in L2 as well. Basically if you have goalscorers then you will do well in the lower leagues and County have that.</p> <p>Sven&#39;s use will come into real effect if they get to the Championship, untill then he will probably just bring some publicity and raise the profile of the club. He may be able to use his contacts and bring in an unknown gem or two from the continent but as i said his contacts will really play apart further up the football pyramid.</p> <p>He is rumoured to be on about £2mil a year at that level which is unheard of in the lower leagues.
