He is a legend no doubt!! his goal scoring record at united is probably the best (im not sure who's got the best goal scoring record at united).. he may not have won as many titles but he's a man utd legend! Henry won like 1 or 2 premiership with arsenal and he's their legend so why not van nistelrooy be man utd's legend!
as u have seen last season andrei schevencko struggled to gel into premiership with chelsea, ruud got straight into it scoring 30+ goals in his 1st season at united. not to forget the 30+ goals he scored in his 1st season in spain with real madrid..
he came to united as a GREAT player and left as a LEGEND! end of story

He's going to go down as a great but not a legend. His last few months were too acrimonious really. That said, he was our most natural goal scorer in years.

no. he is in the 2nd tier of great United players, but not on legendary status. didnt stay at the club long enough and didnt win enough trophies with us to be a legend.

Van Nisterlooy's record for Man Utd is a staggering 95 goals in 150 league appearance. It is no doubt that he was one of the best strikers in the Prem.

The question is: did he do enough to be mentioned under the same breath as Giggs, Schmeichel or Best amonng few others? Is he a Man Utd legend or was he just a good player?

Its your call, but please specify why.

Anelka is not a solution... he's a problem... a big sulky problem
Tevez's price is in inflation heaven
Huntlaar... maybe... maybe, if the price is right, i wouldn't bend over backwards to get him tought, cuz didnt he say he want to move to Juve?
Berba is not for sale... for the moment... next...
Gudjohnsen, again, not a solution, too old, to slow + he's a Chelsea reject... and since when do we chase Chelsea rejects?!?!?!?!
I'd add Defoe to that list, i think he might alright
But hey guys we're not that desperate for a striker!! jeez!!

Gudjohnsen or Tevez will be the right choice. In last season manutd, without saha, as a striker who could head the balls? only defenders. they play counter-attacking football! tevez is the write choice. for Gudjohnsen, experieced and strong - that is what i think wat united needs, last time they had henrik larsson - who could play upfront like ruud . if they REALLY sign Gudjohnsen (just mayb, bcoz Gudjohnsen still wants to do a great job at barca) ferguson could hav more choice in his tactics.

For the tevez deal, i also think that the fee was little too expensv to buy him (20m izzit?) but i belived alex ferguson. he is the special one! xD sorry jose

I think it is going to look something like this:

                       EVDS
Neville Vidic Ferdinand Evra
Hargreaves
Scholes/Carrick
Ronaldo giggs/nani
Tevez Rooney

Pretty much 4-4-2 but with Hargreaves protecting the back 4 and Scholes or Carrick playmaker in the middle spraying the ball to the wings or through the middle. I think two up front is the way to go as otherwise the main striker will get isolated. But both strikers will have the option of dropping deep to link up play.

I can see Carrick and Scholes changing with Scholes further up. Nani on for Giggs when he's tired / being rested. Cant quite see where Anderson is going to crop up. Swap for Rooney or Tevez, playing behind which ever one is on.

i see it too on manchester uniteds official website. lets just hope this is true otherwise it will be the biggest kick in the teeth that manchester united have ever given me. i know if we sign tevez then i shouldnt be talking about more signings becuase weve already spent a rather large wod of cash but theres one player that i saw in the under 21 championship and he looks like an absolute star .his first touch is second to none, he carries the ball like a brazilian ryan giggs,(even though hes dutch before anyone corrects me on that)his crossing is david beckham in his hayday and best of all his favoured position is left back , his name......roysten drenthe.

Well Man U fans be happy Tevez has spoken on the deal and i quote
"For me, Manchester United will be a sensational destination and to be a member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad will be absolutely spectacular," Tevez is quoted in the Daily Mail.

"My dream is to be an idol in English football and I can achieve this now.

"I am a player who thrives on challenges. I went to England to triumph in the Premiership and with West Ham I have achieved that first stage.

"Now I'm ready to move on to the next stage."

The report also states that Tevez has welcomed the news that he is set to sign for United.

It is widely expected that Tevez will be seen in a red shirt after the Copa America
