I’m also Croatian and I’m sure that kura means nothing, absolutely nothing.

But Croatian word Kurac means penis in English – that’s more vulgarism than grammar word.

“Mila kurac si planina” (if he said that) we Crotians would translate that as

“My dear, you are penis – not mountain.”

That would sound like sarcasm to us

But he didn’t said “kurac” – he said “kura”.

If it means nothing, why did all of the Croatians laugh, and Mr. Henry subsequently apologize?

John Stevanja of Keeper Skool, one of our partners, can perhaps clarify this. You didn’t identify if you are Croatian or not. If you or anyone else can provide the proper translation, I would appreciate it.

Please don’t accuse before reading the entire list. I didn’t see the BBC list until ten minutes ago, and was unaware of the three (31 to 33) added at the end. As noted by Ahmed Bilal, that was an editorial decision.

Operatic star Tony Henry after his mistake during the Croatian anthem at Wembley. He should have sung “Mila kuda si planina,’ which means, “You know, my dear, how we love your mountains.” Unfortunately, Mr. Henry sang “Mila kura si planina,” which translates as, “My dear, my penis is a mountain.”

Actually that’s wrong. Word “kura in Croatian means nothing.
