Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has talked of his respect and admiration for former teammate and current Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, and refused to rule out a move back to the La Liga side in the near future.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper ‘AS‘, the 30-year-old attacker said that he cannot predict his future movements, but made no move to quash the growing rumours that he could be set for a return to his first ever club,

“In football you never know. You can’t say where you’re going to be tomorrow or in a week or in ten years; how can I answer that question!”

When asked about his relationship with Atletico boss ‘Cholo’ Simeone, Torres said,

“I have had a lot of admiration Cholo since we were classmates, he helped me a lot.”

“He taught me to be captain, he taught me many things in our seasons together at Atleti. I always want to work with people I admire. I admired Rafa Benitez and had the opportunity to work with him. The same applies with Jose Mourinho and Luis Aragonés.”

The Spaniard has endured an immensely frustrating three years at Stamford Bridge, having joined from Liverpool for £50m in January 2011, and while he still has two years left on his current deal, Torres was coy on his future endeavors,

“The twists and turns of life are never known. I do not have to meet Simeone either here (at Chelsea) or at Atleti. Who was to know I was going to find Rafa Benitez at two English teams!”

What do you think? Is a move back to Atletico a good move for Fernando? Let me know in the comments below…
