Ferguson has made Real Madrid his bitch…
In recent days Manchester United have done a pretty little number on Real Madrid, a quick one-two to the ribs leaving Los Merengues looking slow and sorely unequipped for the war.
And rest assured, this is a war – one that will be fought till Cristiano Ronaldo’s career ends, or he leaves Manchester United (whichever comes first). And now that Ferguson has managed to convince Ronaldo not only to stay this season but to also stay on for at least a few more seasons, his job is done and no matter Real Madrid do, Fergie will win.
By the time he retires from Manchester United Ferguson is likely to have kept Ronaldo at Old Trafford till then and defied Real Madrid in the most public club-v-club harrassment in recent footballing history (and if you’ve forgotten, think back to the nauseatingly overwhelming coverage of the Ronaldo-saga over the summer in which all Calderon did (ok, 80% of the time, but he was talking every other day for the whole damned summer) was talk about Ronaldo.
With Ronaldo’s future firmly entrenched with Manchester United’s, Ferguson can afford to be brash and cocky and take the fight to Madrid – a 180-degree turnaround from the summer when Ferguson kept quiet in the face of intense media speculation mainly because Ronaldo had not decided on his future.
Just looking at his recent comments tells you the man is not just ready for the fight but he’s going to enjoy putting Madrid down every opportunity he gets. Expect Ferguson to keep Ronaldo at OT till 2010 or 2011, which is around the time Fergie will move towards retirement. Real Madrid are not going to get the best player in the world, and it has to sting. In the aftermath, Madrid fans and players have come out and said that they don’t ‘need’ Ronaldo, which is as arrogant and blinded as you can get.
Was Ferguson wrong to speak about Madrid’s history? You bet. It’s hypocritical to use history as argument one minute and crush it to dust the next when it suits your purpose. It’s also unprofessional to talk about former players or players of other clubs the way Ferguson did with Heinze and Madrid. I wish he hadn’t said the things he’s said and what he did is wrong regardless of his status in the game.
In the context of the greater war between United and Madrid though this is just one side kicking the other when they’re down, grinding down a beaten opponent ruthlessly to ensure victory. You can hate him, you can love him, but the bottom line is, he’s great at winning and Madrid are not the first and not the last conquest for the fiery Scotsman.

November 2nd, 2008 @ 18:34i don’t know who is the bitch here united or real madrid, when they have suceeded is taking ruud v. gabriel heinze and beckham what makes u think that they can’t do the same with ronaldo if they really want too. don’t give the argument that it was cos these players have fallen out with fergie that was why. madrid will always come out tops when it comes to this kind of business, they are the masters of that kind of stuff. i tell u they can get ronaldo if even they have pay him quarter of a mil weekly, if they really want to.that is want united will not do its all about money if they cough out the mega bucks saf will sale b/4 u and i even blink.
November 2nd, 2008 @ 20:49I think that Ronaldo will be playing for Real Madrid as of June 2009!! I cannot see him being at United for much longer!!

November 3rd, 2008 @ 01:51the saga will continue..
November 3rd, 2008 @ 03:38but give ronaldo a break..
he has won all in Manchester United..
he has given his all in Manchester United..
so if he wanna go.. jus let him go..
Simply put, SAF is not a man to mess wz. Look at the high profile players who were doin well at Utd but got shipped out to RM in double quick time!. Beckham, RVN & Heinze are all livin’ proof tt SAF get his way, eventually!.
He wl put club unity first before individual brilliance. All 3 players were on top of their respective games but shipped out to Real coz they got too big in their egos.
Anyway, I believe CR7 wl one day leaves Utd for somewhere else, maybe RM or Barca or some other teams. Hwer, for him to leave whilst SAF is still around is simply unimaginable!.
RM, on the otherhand, hv got their tails between their legs after their summer boasting tt CR7 wl be wz them, wh obviously is not the case!. They deserve every humilation heaped on them coz they had asked for it in the very first place!. They shud learn to respect other teams & not think of themselves as the only ‘Big’ team in the world where every single player wud die to play for!.

You’re deluded and crazy
November 3rd, 2008 @ 09:01on heinze – he wanted more money, and liverpool were first in line for him. Fergie threw him to Madrid because he didn’t want to sell to Liverpool, not really a ‘Heinze desperately wanted to leave United for Madrid’ scenario.
on beckham – the man was put up for sale by united and offered to barcelona. Barcelona and United agreed a deal but beckham decided to check other offers, and chose madrid over barcelona. Again, a player already on his way out poached by madrid, not someone who was dying to play for madrid.
on RVN – he wanted to go at the end of the 04/05 season, Fergie convinced him to stay. Personally I thought he should have sold RVN then for 20m instead of getting 10-11m for the striker the summer after that. He had aimed for Spain or Italy, but Madrid were there again and he went there.
on Ronaldo – he’s the first on this list who publicly said he wanted to join madrid. Not a falling out with the manager, a real wantaway player who specifically wanted to go to madrid. Ferguson convinced him to stay, and the turnaround is that Ronaldo now wants to stay for more than this season.
Madrid took 3 players AFTER they were put up for sale by United, hardly what I’d call ‘luring them away’. For the one player who wanted to go, he didn’t.
You could choose to believe Marca, or you can choose to believe the truth.
November 3rd, 2008 @ 13:55tottspur name calling is not part of why we all air our views.if u don’t agree with what i said there is no harm in stating a contrary view or argument, but incase u don’t know i’m not crazy or deluded and if u think i am then u have got serious issues perharps even a mental malady.
