Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao could end up joining Atletico Madrid on loan for the rest of the season.

The Colombian has failed to impress with the Blues this season and the Premier League champions are willing to get rid of the Monaco striker.

Chelsea are willing to terminate his loan deal early and with Monaco unwilling to take him back right now due to his high wages, the Colombian is edging closer to a move back to Spain.

The Colombian striker enjoyed the best years of his career with Atletico Madrid and according to reports he has travelled to Spain to finalise a loan move back to the Spanish club.

Falcao failed to make his mark in English football with both Manchester United as well as Chelsea after joining them on loan from the French side.

It is understood that the player’s parent club Monaco are willing to get rid of the player permanently  but there are no concrete offers for him right now.

The Colombian was expected to continue his devastating form with Atletico Madrid in England, but the unfortunate reality is that he is no longer the same player after the injury.

After the arrival of Alexandre Pato on loan, the Colombian has fallen further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and is willing to make a move in order to play regularly.

Falcao is devoid of confidence right now and a move back to his comfort zone could do him a world of good.
