Sorry - lack of coffee at that time in the morning.

Regardless, I wouldn't trust Hammam as far as I could throw him. And given that I've no arm muscles and he's not a small man, probably isn't very far at all.

Hi Guys - Update on the Cardiff story. Judgement on the case has been delayed, with a verdict not expected until next Wednesday (19 March). Extremely frustrating situation for Cardiff fans and board alike.

Cardiff's High Court hearing concludes tomorrow (Fri 14 Mar) and I will of course update you as soon as any decision has been made. One good bit of news for the Bluebirds is that UEFA President Michel Platini has vowed to support Cardiff's case to play in the UEFA Cup next season, should they win the FA Cup.

Dammit Andy, you beat me to it. I was toying with the idea of writing something on Cardiff at some point! :-)

One individual who shouldn't be overlooked for Cardiff's current financial difficulties is Sam Hamman, who first rode in on a metaphorical great white horse, claimed to be Cardiff's saviour, created a seige mentality (nobody likes us because we're Welsh. we're flying the flag for Wales, etc), then made moves towards a new stadium underpinned by debt.

Yes, this is Cardiff City we're talking about, not Wimbledon, but there's a hell of a lot of parallels between the two Hamman-owned clubs. And the fact he's now the sole communicator between the club and Langston... not good. It takes something to make Peter Risdale look like the better option.

When I was living in Cardiff, I heard from many different places at different times that Cardiff's level of debt was unsustainable and they were only a small wobble away from things going seriously wrong. Plus a lot of their cash problems were tied into the new stadium, which in itself is interesting and was far from plain sailing.

If Cardiff can ride this storm they may be ok, although I'm sceptical as to how long they'll remain in the Championship for with their current off the field problems. If they lose the case, they'll plummet quickly back to League 2.
